Hi,

I have an RX100, mkIII. I am looking to find a leather (or similar case), that looks like the original Sony LCJ-RFX case.

The problem I have:

I use it with the CarrySpeed Magfilter (42mm) polarizer filter ON at most times.

It looks like this (adds another 2-3mm to the lens):

All the cases I know (the original one, and similar cheaper copies) are tight fitting and won't allow for the additional filter. Some simple plastic cases are either too tight or too big etc..

Does anyone have the same situation and how did you solve it?

(a similar issue would be the additional Sony grip --> the official cases don't consider it)

Thank you!

I have a Mark VI and use this case which is tough, easy to use and reasonably priced:-

Googling the dimensions of the Mark III versus the Mark VI show that the 100 VI has a front-to-back dimension of 43mm and the Mk III has a front-to-back dimension of 41 mm. When it is in the case there is about 2 mm clearance between the front of my camera and the inside of the bag. In theory, this gives you a latitude of about 4 mm for the extra depth of your filter.

Of course, this case is a different design to the Sony LCJ-RFX case. It can be carried on a neck strap but I use it on my belt and find that I can remove the camera very quickly and easily when required. The case will accept the camera with the Sony grip attached. J

Well it looks convenient but £18 case from a country known to use dogs for leather (It’s cheaper than you even) is soemthing I couldn’t buy. Anyone know of a canvas one?

Can't help you with the answer.

What I ended up doing is: take the picture of the suggested leather bag to a bag-maker and have it custom made in a similar design.

(initially i had a cheap canvas bag that was just the right size...and when it tore i never found another in a suitable size (either too big or too small). The 2mm-too small one regularly pushed the filter out of place, i ended ruining the lamelles that cover the lens, had to replace that (65€), they removed the magnetic ring needed for the mag filter --> could not find the original replacement, ordered a different brand --> does a bad job of holding the magfilter. (almost lost it) . all of this because of the missing bag.

Wish you luck in looking for the bag. Maybe best to try in different shops, with your camera with you.
