First time getting decent shots of this guy.

Taken doing my daily walk to get out and about.

Being safe..wearing mask...keeping distance between folk.

Very nice.

Thanks for sharing pictures and settings.

Have you tried Bird Mode?

These shots are excellent as always, top notch!

Very interesting! Is that bird native to the American continent, because I never saw it here in Europe?
It is native to most of North America, parts of Central America, Cuba, and the Cayman Islands, and is one of the few woodpecker species that migrate.
Congratulations my friend and happy shooting,

Augustin

These are all beautiful!

What a lovely place to have your daily walk and amazing to see birds like that. The different shots give a lovely feel for its character.

Funny thing, i never knew so much wildlife was withing this park.

I used to visit zoos a lot, to capture photo's of wildlife...until my Mother in Law came to stay with me and wife for few moths.

where she is from, super hot ...so I'd come home from work, and she doesn't like Air conditioning...so off i went to the park and camera, figuring if I will be hot, might as well be outside.

Well, that opened up a door of opportunities in for me....all in this park !

The different shots give a lovely feel for its character.

Catherine.
Glad you enjoyed them.

I looked at your photos several times of the Flickr, kept coming back when it dawned on me this Northern Flicker is the Yellow Shafted one. Very rare in my mid-west U.S. area. We have the Red Shafted ones.

The grey head, with face and throat brown. I looked @ 100% zoom, and could see the yellow shaft. Red-shafted Flickers have gray heads, throats, and napes, and their foreheads are brown. There are other differences male and female.

If not mistaken this one is a female.

Lovely photos of a stunning bird. I get them in my yard.

Yes. Thats what it said when I looked it up. I hardly know any names of birds.

And I wrote that about the Red Shafted N. Flicker being the common one in my are exactly backwards - just like the one you photographed the Yellow Shafted, this is also the common one in my area. Sorry for the confusion.

And you stay healthy as well.
