Hi Lonnit!
You are prolific! The enthusiasm is wonderful. I see you've gone pbase and that seems to be a good site.
However, if you're looking to sell your photos in the future, you might want to consider something like
http://www.photoreflect.com which is free.
Putting stuff up is completely free and you can setup your packages for sale as you like and even include a batch of remote labs to do the print work or setup packages for local print. You can setup discounts, shipping options, etc. You can also setup your own logo for the site and create your own watermark which will be put over the images on the site.
All the setup and photo editing, package editing, etc. is done with a remote client you download called PhotoReflect Publisher. It's basically a watered down version of their premiere pro packages that are $750.00 a pop available at
http://www.expressdigital.com and which seem VERY full featured. You can download them for trial runs. Windows only.
All this is free but they take fees for anything you sell. They also take fees to process payments since they receive the funds and cut you checks every two weeks. The fee if you're doing under $20,000/year is 18%. While this may seem high, if you don't want to build your own site taking the time to create it, secure it and setup payment processing, etc. it's not bad. Especially since you can put up as much as you want. If you aren't selling, you aren't paying.
Just thought you might be interested in this for the future. It's not for everyone, but it seems to be working for a batch of photographers.
I guess the best of both worlds would be Pbase with a photo-store add-on system for X bucks. Maybe that's the way Pbase is going but I don't know.
Good luck and keep on shootin'!
I'd like to start a gallery. I was going to do it on my domain but
I'd prefer a pbase type one where people can enter comments. I
can't build one of those myself. Pbase only offers it free for 30
days and then you can't add to it, plus they may remove it. ARe
there any free ones out there?
Thanks,
Lonnit
