Has anyone made a direct comparison between the M50 and the new M6II? How much better is the M6II? is it worth the difference in price?

As I use the M50 I find that I'm liking it more, especially as a companion to the 6D. I do think I would miss the built-in EVF.

Just curious to hear reactions from those who have used the M50 and now the M6II.

Similar situation, but I use my M50 for concert photography frequently. My question is whether there is any improvement in light sensitivity with the new sensor (not sure why there would be any significant difference, but thought I'd ask). Is it worth adding the M6ii as another carry camera?

The non-articulating screen and the lack of built-in EVF makes the M6II a non-starter for me even if I was buying an M-camera today and I didn't already own a M50

No EVF is a major disappointment, and if I thought they'd put that sensor into another body with EVF, I'd buy it right now. People seem to not mind the add-on, though. That's the only reason I'd consider it.

I use flash a lot and occasionally vlog so the M6II does not meet my needs at all. I'll wait for the M50II or M5II or whatever Canon has planned for us!

I agree with all the others here. I don't think the improvement in AF speed or slightly larger sensor overcome the lack of EVF or fully articulating screen.

yes no EVF is a deal breaker on a serious camera for me...and the email i had from canon UK seemed to confirm there is no M5ii coming..will have to see if the M50MKII meet my needs when i update my M5 but i doubt it ...will have to reevaluate the M,,but replacing the 11-22 will be hard

Still waiting for M5II (or M50II with second control dial)...no EVF was a deal breaker for me

Much better for me. I’ve used M50 for over a year, M6ii is a significant improvement. Controls are much better. Colors and color response are better, impressive highlight recovery - best APS-C sensor on the market. Built-in tiltable flash is surprisingly useful. The main improvement is 4k video though. If you don’t care about video, I don’t see the need to upgrade.

Chances of M50 mark II is 99% as it's one of best sellers.

M6 series works because it is compact, and without EVF actually does works in a way and plus now EVF is an component, which is super portable. 22mm

I also shoot concerts (several times a year) and my primary body is the 6D which has worked quite well for me. I've used the M50 several times along side the 6D with some of my better results being with the Canon 85 f/2.8 and the Canon 35 f/2. The M50 doesn't do as well with my Canon zooms, all of which are f/4, whereas the 6D manages quite well. Yes, having some 2.8 zooms would make everything easier but most of my photography is outdoors with good light and I can't justify the expense of the 2.8 zooms. That said, the 135 f/2 is on my short list as it is a bit more affordable, especially from the refurb store.

I find the dials, custom modes, low light AF and IQ performance, battery life, back button AF were great improvements in my case. I recently shot an underground event and operations felt smoother and the noise in my non-flash shots were handled more evenly.

With the lack of EVF, it fits my in RX100 case (with 22mm) and has more clearance on the Crane M2. However, I do miss low vertical shooting with the swivel screen.

My only regret is maybe i should've gotten the silver one.

Lack of the EVF seems to be a common disappointment ... let me add one more. I've been geotagging my travel photos for some time and the 6D built-in GPS is a joy to work with. The M50 connected to my phone with Canon Camera Connect is also wonderful -- when it works. I'm not sure whether it's my phone or Canon's software - or both but it has let me down more than once. With the M50's smaller battery I understand not including built-in GPS but it would be great if the current solution worked without fail.
