A bit unexpected but here it is, according to the Yodobashi sales data, even beating out a6400 released on the same day. Usually Olympus has Em10iii 2 lens kit in the top 10, the new ranking represents a big change and may drive Olympus further into releasing pro grade gears. Also no Fuji product on the list.

This is great news, Olympus top managements are not as corrupt/bankrupt as many like us to believe........ :-)

Sorry guys had to get that in...... :-)

Yes Yes Yes, there could be a reason for this......Japanese do not care to get the best product.....they happy with anything as long as its a tiny sensor, IBIS, huge body, terrible CAF, terrible mistake EM1X....... :-)

Sorry again mob.....had to get that in.... :-)

If you like I am happy to place many links to great reports and updates by Olympus visionaries......... :-)

Again...sorry, I recall you said they not objective......yes I know...... ;-)

Are you sure that is best selling list ? Looking at the admittedly dubious Google page translation the A6400 is top and the the E-M1II 2nd the E-M1X is in 8th spot amongst the most popular models . Though Japan is the largest market for Olympus. Hopefully a native Japanese speaker will enlighten me :-)

Are we trying a little too hard?

:-) :-) :-)

What's more amazing is the number of Sony cameras in the top 10. I lost count, but it must be 5 or 6.

Well, the same can be said of a6400.

Yodobashi does $6.5 billion USD/yr in sales vs. ~BH's $200mil. Different beasts entirely.

Surprised how weak Canon is, it usually holds a 2-3 spots on the top 10 list. And Fuji is no show, that's not new though.

Indeed and have you looked at the figures for the week before and after it came out ?

For sure but the also sell a massive range of non-photographic goods . Including the sleaze market looking at the front page.

The point with B&H is that pre-orders for any given new product artificially skew the bestsellers list temporarily . Obviously there is no way on Earth that the near $5000 Leica Q2 will be the best selling P&S outside the bloom of pre-orders. Your declaration is the same as me posting Leica Q2 best selling P&S camera B&H. As G1 posted I think you are indeed trying a little to hard . The fact that a newly released camera with pre-orders topped the best selling list for minute or two is hardly big news .

It is new on the market.

Come back in three months and if still the best seller then Olympus has a real winner on their hands and has cancelled the production of all their other models :)

This is an outstanding niche model and cannot be the stuff of mainstream users - but for those that need a camera just like this then there is no other alternative .... No wonder it is selling well.

Although if you add up the 3 a6400 configurations in positions 7,9,10, who knows where it would stand.

Its normal....? Every new camera dominate the most watched list on DPR until another new models is released......EM1X was the same......

What is really unique in this special case is after HUGE negative propaganda on this MFT forum and loyal Olympus posters bullied just for being optimistic and excited. And now this really positive report.....this is incredible news. I really appreciate your positive joy with the Olympus community Tom, great stuff!!!!

Just imagine what will happen when the new EM5 MKIII is launched........ Should we expect record breaking sales?

Yes. Here is the link to the page. The data is from the 2nd half of Feb, even though the cam was released on Feb 22.

So, this site expresses its surprise at the sudden high ranking of the EM1X, and it also states that the OM-D E-M10 Mark III EZ double zoom kit is a regular in the top 10 of Yodobashi, but this time it couldn't make it.

I do wonder where it got this Yodobashi data from. When I go to the Yodobashi web page, I cannot find it.

Not enough man bun wearing hipsters in Japan to support Fuji 🤣
That cannot be right all the Samurai movies I have seen have loads of man buns in them :-)

It is even vintage and man do those hipster chaps love vintage :-)
