**PART 2** This Week Through your m4/3 2019.02.23

Great lines in the first and the B&W conversions are all excellent.

Beautiful colours in these. Did you have to tweak a lot? The picture with the little boy is a brilliant composition.

A beautiful result. How many walls do you have to hang all these panos on?
Thank you, and not enough which is why I sell them to use other peoples walls :-D

Wow, thanks for the support.

Mostly made with a GX9 + 12-60 as backup to my primary rig of a tripod-mounted Nikon D610. Winter days are short, so having two cameras can be a boon. I'm usually a purist about keeping it strictly MFT, but I've included some D610 shots since they complete the set.

An excellent guide to this hike can be found here: https://www.oregonhikers.org/field_guide/Trail_of_Ten_Falls_Loop_Hike

It is an all-season hike (I definitely recommend good waterproof hiking boots and microspikes).

every year I look forward to the first sighting of small beasties in my garden as it provides the opportunity to get my macro head on.

This year I have just acquired a used 4/3rds Olympus 50mm f2 macro to use on my EM-1 mk2 , just in time to shoot my first bee and zebra jumping spider action, (shot using it with the 1.4XTX making it a 70mm f2.8 set-up)

this is the smallest Zebra Spider I have (just) seen and also the first I have shot with another spider in in its jaws. This thing was so small that I wasn't even sure if it was a spider until I poked it with my finger and it moved (thought it may have been a bit of resin on the side of the Amalanchier tree)

So much to learn, so little time left to do it! :D

Thanks everyone for your encouraging comments. It's interesting that the first, high-key one is the most popular, as this was a bit of an afterthought. Always lots to learn!

if this is your first attempt I'm looking forward to seeing more - these are really engaging. I always admire the skill needed to succeed with street photography - skill I don't possess!

Thanks for your kind words. It was a fun experiment and one that I will try again.

An interesting story and an interesting shot. I would have thought that a faster shutter speed was needed for a shot like this; 1/160th doesn't seem fast enough. What mode were you shooting in? I don't do this kind of photography but I would have gone for shutter priority in circumstances like this, even for the cost of a bit more noise.
Aperture, because I needed to have some DOF space to work with. Shutter would have cranked it wide open automatically. This was actually a lucky shot where I had it wide open anyway. The only reason her head is sharp is because that was the center axis of her spin. Head stayed still while her body roated.

Light varied wildly in the arena, SS ranged from 1/160 to 1/400, so perhaps you are right in that I should have just set the shutter speed to something around 1/400 and let it go. I would have had to bump the iso to 3200 then, and the noise at that level in the GH5 makes me twitchy...

A nicely done set Luyi! Like the Ford GT. No one would have guessed that!

We opted not to go this year. I wish the show was at a time of year with better weather. A trip to Toronto and walking around on the water front is something we both enjoy in nice weather. I like the special displays but don't have a lot of use for the new production cars on display. I think the display from the Peterson Museum would likely have been where I spent my time.

It is often the case that shots that were borderline for me are those that are most appreciated.

Thats the good thing about this tread.
