I wrote Canon USA about the 100MB online storage offer that I had heard about. Here's the reply I got back:

Customers in the U.S. are not eligible for this offer, nor does Canon
USA offer a comparable service. We regret this inconvenience.

How many years of 100MB webspace can you get for the extra $500 we pay for our EOS 300D?
I think we ripped off UK citizens deserve something "FREE" with our cameras.

And save my precious 15Mb webspace for real photos ..

So Yes - you get that 100Mb free with the 10D as well, I just hadn't activated it - now have :)

As for the UK & Europe - I suppose we have to get SOMETHING for paying rip off prices - Americans get half price lenses AND rebates !

With prices up to half what we pay on lenses and cameras way cheaper - we don't get rebates either ....

I'd rather pay Yank prices than have 100Mb free

Goes to show how sneaky the UK gov't is. You don't even realize that the reason you are paying more is not because of Canon but because of your Socialist VAT taxes. Not intended to be flame, just the truth.

Shows how much you know - precisely Zilch by the look of it - otherwise it wouldn't be cheaper for us to buy from the USA Including Shipping AND tax AND import duty which it is ! - the only thing stopping me and many others from never buying a Canon lens from the UK ever again is QC! ..

Canon are GOUGING us as are Olympus, Nikon, Fuji, Sony and all the rest - it's no better in most of europe and worse in Sweden apparently..

It's got Micro USM so no FTM, it was only made for a short period and never bundled with any model of camera so I guess it didn't sell well so they discontinued it (Probably as most wanted a 28-xx)

Iif you stick it on a 1D (it looks ridiculous) and stop it down then you get photos like this
