Camera weight is 400g, the lightest full-frame mirrorless camera ever
A side-articulated monitor and a comfortable grip
A new 24MP CMOS sensor. Expect the performance similar to EOS R
No Touch Bar and top monitor but an extra dial
5FPS
Standard ISO 100-40000
Eye AF now supports Servo AF and Video AF
Dual Pixel AF speed is 0.05 sec.
USB-C and headphone jack are available. Battery charging while shooting is supported
Canon Log, HDMI clean output, and 1.56x 4K crop
Price is about $1,300 USD for body
The Extension Grip EG-E1 is a 1cm thick “plate” to be installed under EOS RP. It makes a better grip to hold the camera while the memory card and battery can still be removed.

Thoughts? What do you like? What do you dislike? I like the price (if true)

Nice but why so light?

Nice

Glad to hear it's not the 6DII sensor
No Touch Bar and top monitor but an extra dial
Huge upgrade from the EOS R.
Eh, I'll cope
Standard ISO 100-40000
Standard.

About time.
Dual Pixel AF speed is 0.05 sec.
I'll wait for tests, DPAF is very much a marketing term and doesn't mean a lot nowadays.

The crop is the first big issue. Come on Canon, full frame 4K was mainstream back in 2015.

About right.

Wow, very curious to see how the ergonomics work

Camera Conspiracies is going to love this.

Happy with eye af in servo. Would like to have at least 7 fps in servo... Give me those two things with good af and EVF and I'll buy it!

Almost too good to be true, but possible within a price range variability of 200-300 $. Very close to what I was waiting for (a light travel and general purpose FF camera for an amator). If sensor quality is EOS R class- this sounds good and a right step for Canon.

Hard to believe...but see below. Maybe there is no built in viewfinder?

Seems a bit low though within an acceptable margin for error, alright.

Now this has my attention - it was recently reported that an EG-E1 had been registered by Canon and it was suggested that it was a battery grip. Reporting this as a 1cm plate on a 400g body is either a bit of creative genius on the part of someone mischievous or else points towards these specs as being reliable.

Hopefully, it's not a M100 with an R mount...

As crazy as this sounds, I'm so reliant on the LCD that I'm not sure I'd mind. Camera LCD hoods are cheap.

I pretty much just want an EVF.

If Canon is not able to make affordable 4K from full sensor, why there is no option to 1440p? There will be at least some room to crop/straighten video to decent 1080p?

I'm still not convinced that there is real demand for 4K from stills camera buyers. It's become a weapon to use in the online camera brand wars. I don't think people are really processing and cropping video like that.

Lately, it's become like a speed race, who is gonna be first to copy/paste rumors from canonrumors.com. What's the point? At least put a link to your source of info, unless you pulled it yourself out of the thin air.

Nice but why so light?
Because plastic is lighter than metal. :-) You might as well turn a cost saving measure into a marketing positive.

The Canon SL2 DSLR is "406g (Body only)".
Yes, but plastic is pretty durable! my SL2 has seen a lot of abuse.
SL2? Is that a code word for something naughty?

Hmm. Throw in a few pan cake lenses and this gets tempting... But such lenses are not on the horizon it seems...
