I found myself use the 15mm of my 15-45mm the most, so I think I should go wider. However, how much is those 4mm at the wide end the 11-22mm give me? Is those 44mm worth $350?

Does anyone have the photos to show the difference in the FOV of 2 lenses?

In addition to 4mm wider view, you will get a better image quality. 11-22 is a higher class lens while 15-45 is a mediocre lens. You can search some FOV comparisons easily on the net, especially when considering their equivalent focal lengths.

Thank you! I found this thread.

The 11-22mm is surely a great lens, but it's so expensive, and I plan to go full frame in 2 years :( . Do you think it will be on sale on Black Friday?

If you have access to the canon refurb store and are patient, you may find a good deal on the 11-22 in the next few weeks. Go to Canon Price Watch and click on the refurb button. You can subscribe to price notifications of any equipment you are interested in. Canon refurbs have a 1 year warranty and, in many cases, are indistinguishable from brand new. The current price for the 11-22 is $200. If memory is correct I obtained my 11-22 for close to $150 and it was either a refurb or brand new offered on a very good sale. I don't think you will be disappointed with the 11-22.

Where did you get that lens for $200? The current price for it on the Canon Refurb site is $320. The price at B&H is $349 so the refurb is not a great bargain.

When I checked the refurb site earlier the listed price was 199.99 ... now it's considerably more. Not sure what's going on. I'm fairly certain that I got mine for even less but can't remember when/where. I bought some of my M equipment from Canada (before it was available here) and also directly from Japan (eBay). And I've bought quite a bit of Canon gear through the refurb store. I would have to go back & check records to determine exactly what came from where and at what price point.

And you are correct - at $320 the refurb is not a bargain. This is one reason I use Price Watch and subscribe to price notifications for gear I'm interested in. You can receive notifications when the price drops below a set point that you choose. I usually look at the refurb's going price and choose a set point 15% lower so that I will receive notification when the refurb sale runs one of their 15% sales.

price update ... in my haste to check the 11-22 refurb price I may have scrolled to the EFM 22mm thinking I was looking at the 11-22. It is currently priced at 199.99. That is likely the most logical reason for my mis-quote - apologies. But I'm fairly certain that I "scored" my 11-22 for a fire sale price, possibly as part of a larger bundle. My first M purchase was the original M(1) + 18-55 kit. I liked the M so much that I found the "updated" M2 and then began adding lenses & accessories when I found them for good prices.
