Read carefully since regrettably I was not consistent between screen captures :-(

Hi,

Nonsense comparison ...

How can you ignore after so much time that the exposure is not the same at a given ISO between Fuji and most competitors ? Well, just like Fujirumors you could answer but this is not a reason to post unfair comparisons.

If you want fair comparisons, use the dpr studio scene in raw.

Six images for three ISO comparisons with no exit data and no explanation.

Easy enough when looking at the pictures screen capture of PS comparing files explianed on the screen, these are test files from imaging resource site

Looking at full size makes everything clear if you accept to live eyes wide open :-)

Fuji doesn't overstate iso....you have some reading up to do.

Absolutely sensible comparison with the RAW files, moreover the Imaging resource studio is by far much better than DPR studio ones

You still believe in the Fuji ISo oversta&ting legend in raw............... so sad :-(

Nonsense, you did not equalise exposure.

Well, these comparisons are very biased.

DPR is much more rigorous !.

I think you make confusions with raw.

Dpr raw comparisons are fair simply because dpr decided to equalise exposure (instead of ISO) in raw, which is fair. This has nothing to do with raw, this was an arbitrary choice.

Here, you post comparisons of images taken with very different exposure settings. In jpeg or in raw, this is nonsense for the exact same reason, the exposures are not equalised.

Well in terms of nonsense comments, without evidence provided do you intent to reach himalaya nonsense infos ???

That till 12800 ISO the IQ is similar and the Sony slightly better at 25600 ISO which I think is rather an unexpected result giving all the buzz made around the last Sony A7

There are those dreaded worms again... not dead in the third generation, as some state. The Sony wins on all accounts( I know, it's FF), even without taking account the differences in iso values of the two brands.

Super correct assessment, of course on this website everything is anal pixel peeping to find minute differences which in almost every instance are not noticeable except at crazy big print outs. I look every day at two photos on my wall 20 X 30 size Duggal (great printing company in NYC) produced prints. One I shot with a micro 4/3 camera and the other I shot with the Sony RX1R....nobody can tell the difference as to which camera made which print, nor do they care. They like the composition, the capture of the moment and the subject matter... Of course for whatever reason, now all I shoot with is Fuji because I love their lenses and the way their cameras feel and work and their pricing is good.

Today's assignment is a simple concept. Can the discussion remain civil? Almost got out of hand but stopped.

FWIW I find the post about the improved quality of today's sensors (think just 5+yeas ago) at higher ISO's by most manufacturer's to be sensible. I shoot with many systems and with all I feel confident that at shooting up to ISO6400, I can get a quality image for most situations.. just my opinion.

Keep it Civil!

Bob

My takeaway: it's much easier to interpret results if the images from each camera are consistently posted on the same side and with a caption noting ISO and other settings. :)

There you go again Bob, not letting us fling poo at each other. Lol!

My sarcastic humor aside I do appreciate you trying to keep the discussions civil. I just couldn’t resist a little sarcasm.

I just received my a7iii and I am impressed. Quite an upgrade from my original a7.

I particularly like the EVF and the fast and accurate focus.

Getting the 24-105 on Monday.

Fuji would benefit with a 24-105mm equivalent. I bet a lot of folks would want something like that.
