B&H has A7 iii in stock but not shipping until April 10

I ordered mine from Amazon within minutes of it being available (had a gift card balance I wanted to use) and got an email last night saying I'd receive it on...April 24th despite paying for overnight delivery. I contacted them and was told not to pay attention to the date and that it would be updated and I'd receive it sooner than that. They also said that there were many thousands of preorders and they would be sent out in the order received, which should work to my advantage. I checked again this morning and the date is now April 17th. Hopefully when it actually ships it will be sooner than that.

You must have been within the first few hours. I preordered shortly after they'd edited the bundle so that it didn't look like a greymarket import, which was maybe 2 hours after preorders opened. Amazon sent me an ETA yesterday - April 24th.
My 24-105 came in last week.

Just spoke with Adorama and they said my camera is being packed to ship at the moment and should go out today. :-D

Got a "shipped" e-mail today.
I guess my amended order is technically a phone or e-mail placed order, hence the difficulty accessing it on the web site.
But the cool thing is, when I changed the original order from "kit lens" to "body only" they must have changed it without bumping my place in line.
This is one reason why I do all my biggest purchases through B&H - they always seem to have my back.
Camera arrives Thursday, woo hoo!! :-D

Nice I'm #10 on cametas wait list. I also preordered that buy dig bundle a few weeks ago. I also found a 3% cashback deal for buydig and 6% cash back deal for cameta. I'm hoping hoping one of them makes it here this week. Buydig sent me an email this morning saying it should ship tomorrow. I just emailed cameta to see what the status is?
Edit: cameta just said it will be shipped out tonight!!!!

Cool. Maybe my A7r3 was a fluke. I am looking forward to the 70-200 coming in one piece. I love B&H by the way.I've bought 2 cameras now from B&H, and a couple of lenses. All of them seemed to be well protected in the packaging, no problems that I saw.So I got my A7R3 a while back from B&H. It was in it's original packaging with two air pillows dropped into a box. The camera works fine, but I was kinda surprised at the lack of additional protection for such a sensitive piece of electronics. Does anybody else have the same experience?
How do you expect your A73 to come via FedEx? Dropped into a box with a couple of airbags?
When I ship a lens (and I did sell a lens to B&H for the discount on the A7R3), I wrap the lens in bubble wrap and tape it, twice so it is completely surrounded.
I thought I was smart when I ordered the 70-200 f2.8 GM the other day. I ordered a camera bag with it and a belt and a whole bunch of other things figuring I could use them to protect the expensive lens.
Nope, B&H was smarter. They broke the order up into four separate boxes! No doubt one box will be my expensive lens with a couple of air bags sitting next to it.
