Hello,

I really like this Sigma lens but there is no APSC body that I can pair it with that has IBIS, and so I am trying to pick a MFT camera to go with it, along with the metabones speedbooster.

what I need

1) IBIS is a must

2) Either touch screen focus or joystick, preferably both

3) AF works well enough with the speedbooster adapter.

Thank you for your input!

Actually there is one APS-C mirrorless body from Sony - A6500. You can mount a EF or Sony A versions with a corresponding adapter.

Wait for their opinions.

You say IBIS is a must, so I'm assuming you are after video. The GH5 is the obvious choice as it totally eclipses every other video camera in it's.

Also the Panasonic G9 could be a good choice if you are looking to do more stills.

will af work with speedbooster during video? will the facial recognition or eye af(if there is one) still work?

I actually have the gear so I can comment. The EF Mount Sigma DC 18-25mm f1.8 works well on M4/3 bodies with Metabones adapters. And as you would know the Metabones Ultra focal reduction adapter converts the lens image circle to slightly better than its designed aps-c image circle - it does that without vignette and picks up a stop of light along the way. Auto focus is quick and accurate.

It is win-win for M4/3 body users.

I have successfully used it on Olympus E-M1, Panasonic GX7 & GX85 (have IBIS) and also the Panasonic GM bodies.

No idea - I don’t do video - works well with stills so I could not see any paricular issue with video. Yo will just have to buy the gear and report back to us :)
