Got myself an A7Rii, 3 weeks later upgraded to A7Riii

Hi there,

I just wanted to share this story with you.

I began photography in 2005 with a Nikon D80, then I upgraded to Nikon D700 in 2009. Shot it until end (september) 2017 when I decided to move to the Sony camp. So I exchanged my D700 for a Sony A7Rii on 29 September. Just two weeks later they announced the A7Riii...in the meantime I already got shot some landscapes and other stuff and I already started to get annoyed by the slow writing to card on the A7Rii. Had to wait (too long) to activate playback on the A7Rii....so I decided to make a trade towards A7Riii with my local retailer.

And they were very kind to me. They gave me complete refund on A7Rii and i only had to pay the difference (still a €500) for the A7Riii. Send in the A7Rii and got the A7Riii back te same day.....I'm so happy now and yes....the A7Riii is so much faster and more intuitive to work with.

Will have lot's of fun with this camera 😃😃😃 +1 for the A7Riii
 
Glad the vendor came to the party on that one.

The slow write and wait to activate playback on the A7rii can be largely mitigated by choosing RAW + small size JPG. So hope that wasn't your only reason :)

For 500 Euro that is an amazing upgrade indeed! Congratulations. Enjoy.

You may want to post the name of the local retailer here... there's so much negativity recently about retailers (mostly here in the US) re. shipment of A7R iii that it would be great to state their name when giving kudos to retailers who ROCK. :)

You may want to post the name of the local retailer here... there's so much negativity recently about retailers (mostly here in the US) re. shipment of A7R iii that it would be great to state their name when giving kudos to retailers who ROCK. :)

The Retailer was CameraNu.nl one of the Dutch largest vendors of camera gear!

Great story and a happy ending.

Congrats on your move to Sony and so great to hear that you were able to transition to the α7R3 relatively painlessly. I loved the R2, but the upgrade from R2 to R3 is quite significant, all in all.

Most of the "drama" is in US with people freaking out over one or two days delays between Thanksgiving craziness and Christmas craziness, hahaha.
