Can someone tell me what would be the best adapter for sony a6500 to be used with canon EF lenses? I would like all of the functionality to work such as autofocus, exposure, and have no distortion. Thank you!

Metabones IV/V is the best on the market now - but comes at a price.

I've had good luck with the Sigma adapter.
Same here. Only my EF 300/4 L IS didn't work with the MC-11.

You specifically asked about EF lenses. Know that Canon EF-S lenses will not fit on the Sigma MC-11 adapter unless the lens is modified.

I am pretty happy with my metabones which I use on the Canon 100-400 Mk II - but you need to update the firmware to the latest version to get good results.

the best is arguably the Metabones, which comes at a steep price of course.

The Fotodiox, at a fraction of the price, is someone well received, as is the Sigma which is a name brand.

none of the straight up adapters will have distortion, since they don't add additional glass in between lens and sensor.

- however then there's a few adapters, such as the Metabones Speed Booster, which , using glass, actually change the image so there's no crop-factor- and gains an extra stop of light. (I believe there's also a lower cost adapter that's kind of similar)

There are the Lens Turbo family of focal reducers which are decent optically, but are 100% manual. There is a Viltrox focal reducer that severely vignettes with every EF lens I've tried on my A6300 or A6500.

There's a new Viltrox EF-NEX IV adapter on the market - it's completely unknown how well it performs. I won't be able to test mine until tomorrow.

I will say that design-wise, my first impression after connecting it to my PC is positive: Unlike the Neewer NW-S-AF4, where some idiot miswired the USB pins and as a result the adapter had ZERO chance of being firmware-upgradable, Viltrox properly wired the pins of their adapter AND they're using a FAT-based bootloader for firmware upgrades: Looks like it's from one of STM's app notes for the STM32 family.
