Hi ! the 60 m. micro IS A GREAT lens... however you have to go very near when it comes to catch bugs with it... but then again you have more DOF than with the 105 !!!

The background was a FOAM CORE BOARD painted in black. I found the leave and brought it inside to photograph... I usually keep a piece of black foam core in my car, so in any case I can allways put it behind the subject I want to shoot... This is a "trick" I learned in the Nikon Talk Forum (non-DSLR)... Very usefull...

--Vvery nice. Did you use any compensation on the flash? and considering the weather you have had I was wondering if it died from the cold or the heat? :-)

Also can you tell me approximately how your USM numbers would translate to Photoshop?

Hey, Is this thing on? Can anyone hear me back there?

I guess it died from the HEAT !!! We had up to 38 degrees (centigrade), and an average of 32/35 degrees for the last two months...
Also can you tell me approximately how your USM numbers would
translate to Photoshop?
I also use PS, and my usual settings for USM are AMOUNT 200/250, RADIUS 0.2/0.3 and THRESHOLD 0 ! I don't use in-camera sharpening, so I might sometimes even apply twice USM... IMHO, it less agressive to use twice a little amount of sharpening than only once a bigger one...
Hope this help ?

So sorry for my 'inklisch' - any germans here?

Hi ! sorry not able to give you the german name for "foam core", but it's the same as that white stuff in wich you received your camera, you see ? It's also used in construction to "block" the noises...

You fing this in any "Do It Yourself" shop... Just paint it black and off you go shooting... but you can just as well use some matte velvet for example, or anything BLACK, wich absorbs the light, to make a nice background !
Hope this helps ?
