Yup, Wu, nobody makes what I want. Olympus is the best compromise, but their quality has made me bitter. I think I'll just let it rest for a while and see if any solution, any at all, becomes evident. Sometimes, the only winning move is not to play the game. Rich

Thanks, Stew. That's what I was going for with the bridge, a different perspective. I had The MZ 14-150 II on, so being too lazy to change to The ZD 7-14, 14mm was as wide as I could go. I might go back and try it with The 7-14 and maybe with The ZD 8mm fish eye, too. There are multiple spots to shoot up at that first span of the bridge and from both sides, as well as beneath. I just have to avoid getting lost in composition so I don't fall into The Bay. I can see the opening line of the story: "Photographer drowns in ten inches of water, held down by ZD 7-14 in bag strapped to neck. He becomes an unique addition to The Darwin List." Rich

Thank you, WhyNot. I hadn't considered The Stylus. I'll have a look at the specs. My first 22 years being spent in a place with boring but awful weather, either hot, or hotter, or hot with hot wind, which caused awful fires, the weather here is fascinating and enjoyable to me. Even after 44 years of it, I still enjoy it. Many of the locals think me crazy for gleefully anticipating an approaching storm. They're right, but for the wrong reason. Rich

I guess I've gone down this path a couple times in the last several years... A couple years ago I wanted a camera to conveniently travel with and I always think of the M1 as a BIG camera .. probably because if I travel with it I'll take the 14-54 lens .. I wanted a 1" camera but neither the Sony RX10 nor Panasonic FZ1000, which were attractive, seemed, to be a better option than the M1 for size and weight and RX100 was really too small and expensive for what I would get. .. So it came down to the Fuji X-30 and the Oly Stylus 1. A used Stylus came up and I have never regretted getting it .. My wife had been encouraging to get one for a year, as she has had one ... Small sensor but if the ISO can be kept down it turns out good results... I've share some pictures with it here and on G&F. ....

.... Then this year I made that mistake of selling the M5.. So I looked around again and found the there was no large sensor compact that was less expensive or produced better results than the M10.2. which I now own. It is almost as compact as the compact cameras when I have the P20, P14 or the P35-100 on it ... If Canon thought of the G5 X as a quality camera and put that quality into it at the price then it would be almost perfect for what I want but the reviews say otherwise, to me. ... The M10 is like all small mFT cameras Fiddly .. It doesn't have the same M1 dial problem but the dials do move in the breeze so the result is close ..but so far it works well as a walk around camera ..

Maybe someday there will be the perfect compact camera. ...

Thanks for the kind words!

Thanks, Stew. The road you reference is Interstate 70. I runs from the plateau through the canyon and into the valley. It is quite a ride.

I did not darken the skies. The second shot was manipulated a little bit. The first shot is pretty much out of the camera. It was an interesting day weather wise. The first image was capture near the Utah border with Nevada. The second and third images were captured a few hours later and quite a bit east of the first image. The weather was changing.
Utah is a great location for landscapes and your efforts prove it. I'm interested in knowing if you darken your skies in PP or or these right out of the camera?

Thank you Craig!

This is a particularly nice area to visit. There are few national parks in the neighborhood, but these were captured along the highway. The first along Highway 50, the second and third were along scenic overlooks along I-70. An amazing area.

This was the start of my road trip---I had to attend a family function in Pennsylvania and this was the last truly clear day I had. It is not only a large country but a wet one (at least this week)

That's a beautiful set. I share your thoughts on the phone booth and the Scottish variety is much more colorful than those here in the states. Superman is indeed in need of a new changing room. Cheers.

Nice images. I suppose those were taken before the latest snow storm which reportedly killed all the blossoms. I can't believe I lived across the Potomac in Virginia for seven years and took not one image of the blossoms.
