Nikon won the previous two years with the D1 and then the D1x. That award is particularly for NEW technologies, not aging models.

Relax, why are you offended, it is true ... just like the soft jpeg in the D-100, it is there period.

The camera has a lot of good features, it has several flaws, it is one of them ...

I had 3 10D sent to me by Canon to be tested with a series of more than great lenses. (not six months ago, 8 weeks ago ...)

The first 2 10D I reveived were seriously defective and had severe focussing problems (front and back focussing for both + contrast banding for the second one, tyhe third one was OK, not great but acceptable even for an amateur like myself ...)

I can't lose my respect and credibility for something that is true ...

Yves - How did you manage to get test bodies from Canon? Even though it was Canon (who seems to give away a lot of gear), I'm still curious...

Part of a focus Group, one thing lead to another ... I did get a contract to play with this and some new gears ...

Last year, I had the chance to beta test the Sony DSC-717 too before it came out on the market ...

I didn't get to keep the camera and lenses ... I was quite honnest in my conclusion and after 2 defective bodies, almost call it off ...

Well, here's the truth from me. Have a 10D, works fine. So how's that for truth eh?

You're right about one thing though. You can't lose respect and credibility because you haven't got any from me.

As for me being a troll....... ask around what that really means and you'll find that the one who look more like a troll than anyone else here would be him.

Learn to read ... I had used 3 of those bodies (pretend it is in BOLD) ... (2 of them defective)

I think you are mislead but your own imaturity and get essily provoked about pieces of equipment that don't make a photographer ..

Stand up man ... Be real ... Accept flaws (even your own) and you'll live happier ...

Aw give me a break will ya? Another one of those hit and run thingy from you again I suppose? Don't know about you but from where I come from, throwing slur is immateur. Perhaps you find that acceptable in your culture?

As for flaws? I can list flaws about the Nikons I've used like nobody's business. Do you see me doing that? Nope, why? Because I believe that's what accepting flaws is all about. You don't whinge and whine all day long like a bab y having his lolly taken away. You move on.

Did you think I was joking when I said that some of us made our decision based on Canon QC? Some of us got burned by Canon and it left a bad taste in our mouth! It really is no different from you saying, I hate Chrysler, those cars are junk!; based on bad experiences people form opinions and many here knew Yves had some products from Canon with poor QC as have I.

This isn't about who managed to get a good 10D it's about the fact that he got 2 bad ones and he's not the first person to say that! If I were you I'd count myself lucky that I managed to get a good camera.

Would you think I'm joking if I said Nikon's QC can be just as bad? What about me saying that people who got good Nikon stuff are just as lucky as those who got good Canon stuff? Like I said, it goes both ways. Some chosed to whinge and whine, some moved on. I moved on.
