My wife and I are leaving on a transatlantic 2 week cruise that has stops in Barcelona, Malaga, Portugal, Bermuda and Miami.

We own the following

rx100III

7dMk2

18-135stm

55-250 stm

10-18stm

24mm STM

50mm stm

Does anyone have any suggestions as to what to take and what to leave.

My thoughts are the RX100 III

7DII

18-135

55-250

Thanks

Just for Barcelona I would include the 10-18, there is the potential to get some great architectural and scenic shots where space can be quite limiting.

I would probably forget the 55-250 as most of this range is covered by the 18-135.

I agree with Ray, take the 10-18, leave the 55-250. I'd also throw in the 24 mm as it takes up very little space and might come in handy if light is low.

Thanks for your suggestions. That is what I will do, 18-135 ,10-18, and 24mm

Thanks again!

I'd take the RX100 III and thats it. Just enjoy the holiday and grab some nice pics along the way and always have your camera with you out of sight.

Ian,

After much thought I'm agreeing with you. The Rx100III should suffice just fine.

For me, the little camera would just be too limiting - especially in low light.

Unless you have to fly to get to or from the Boat, the weight limit on a boat is normally huge - 64Kg per person. So I don't leave behind stuff I'd later regret. Our last cruise was Fremantle to Komodo Island and Indonesia and return. If I'd travelled light I wouldn't have got photo's of a whaleshark which I took from Deck 15 of a Cruise ship @ 20 Knots. About 75 Metres away.

Having said that, the 18-135 and a wide angle 10-20 or thereabouts would be my travel light minimum. And my Kenko HD 1.4 TC, which can be used on the EFs lenses.

Well we just got back. Had a great time!

I took my Rx100III and my wife had her 330hs.

I took over 400 photos , she took about the same. We compared the shots and her first comment was that my pics looked dull and lacked color.

I must say I agree, You just can't get "Canon Color" out of a Sony. The pics were very sharp but I must say I preferred hers also.

My RX100III will be for sale shortly. It's a wonderful camera but just not to my taste. I tried shooting in Vivid and adjusting colors but could never duplicate the canon.

For those of you tempted by the size and reviews, don't be. The end results we good but not canon quality when it came to depth and color. Everything else was great though.

I use an RX100 II and an ELPH 330 HS. I know what you're talking about.

That little inexpensive 330 HS rocks.

Yeah, you must handle and use a camera to know if it is for you. Technical specs only tell a small part of the whole story.
