Hi,

I've just sold my Fuji S2 for 2100€, it cost me 1900€ :-)

But now I have a dilema, what camera should I buy?

The S2 is a AMAZING camera but everywhere I go everybody say to wait until end of september, because the new Nikon D200 will be a better camera.

So guys and girls, do you really know if there will be a D200 this fall or is this just vapor?

Thanks

Joao

That's funny, I heard it would be summer of 2004, not [this] september

If not beginning of summer

My two cents:

The D100 holds well against the 10D, so there's no need to hurry. Maybe mid next year. The D2X is more important, as the 1Ds of Canon is a big pain for Nikon, so it will be launched earlier. I hope this year.
will there be a d200 this fall???

I've got to know in order to choose my dslr
It's not. ;-)

Nikon used to be happy with 5 years between introductions of Pro Series film Cameras. Now with digital virtually changing overnight, they plan for 24-30months of production per new camera. Nikon also loves to introduce cameras at an event(olympics, photokina, etc). With my long association with Nikon, my guess is you will see the D100 replacement camera announced next late Feb/early March at the PMA convention in Las Vegas. If Nikon chooses not to sell Fuji any more camera bodies,Fuji will have to go climb into bed with someone else to get the bodies for the S2 replacement. Good luck in your camera purchase Joao, JP

Ok, Thanks

Then I will be happy to buy again a S2. No way I will be without a camera for half a year.

is this true? nikon won't sell any more bodies to fuji? so there
will be no nikon based S3? what du you know?
They'll probably have to curry Canon's favor so that they can make an S3. Otherwise, they may have to resort to making their own lens mount and lens line. Think of using a 12-megapixel honeycomb ccd sensor with a purely flourite/UD glass! The pictures will be true to life and outstanding!

so this is fact?? no more nikon for fuji?
yes or no?

is this true? nikon won't sell any more bodies to fuji?
Why wouldn't Nikon sell bodies to Fuji?

By doing so, they make money selling both Nikon and Fuji cameras. If Fuji had to use another base body (e.g. Canon), Nikon would lose money. That doesn't sound like a wise business decision, does it?

Fuji makes great CCD's
but the body must be Nikon

I believe Fuji is a member of the Four-Thirds System? Maybe they'll bring out their own DSLR. The heck with Nikon! :-)

he said "if".

No way I will be trading my lens for this Four-Thirds System.

If Fuji doesn't make the S3 for the nikon lens then the S2 will be my last Fuji dslr
