Which Leica lenses are you using on your Fuji?

I use a 50 Summilux Type II (E43) on my Fuji kit. Cost me $1000 which was a steal. I just use a Fotodiox adapter.

The cheaper ones - Summaron, Summarit, Minolta versions. See photostream for examples.

Adapters: cheap generic ones on fleabay

None. I sold my M lenses a few years ago. No regrets. I find nothing lacking with the Fuji XF lenses. My 2 cents.

A 1934 Ernst Leitz Elmar f = 9 cm 1:4 with a cheap M39-FX adapter. I paid 89 € for the lens, which is quite nice with lowish contrast but enough resolution for use even on my Nikon 1 V1.

Hi,

I have the Fuji M adapter. It was expensive as adapters go, but it is without any doubt the best fitting adapter I've ever bought. It's absolutely rock solid and I like the quick access to the lens selection and correction menu.

I use more native Fuji lenses than any third party brand but do have quite a few off-brand lenses. In M mount I have the new Voigtlander Super Wide Heliar 15/4.5 III. I've only just bought it, but on first use, it appears to be excellent. I also have the Voigtlander 90/3.5 Apo Lanthar which I bought before the Fuji released their 90mm, and which I've kept because it's both so good and so small. (Mine's in Nikon mount, but the same optics are around in M mount). Others - I've often been tempted to buy either of the two Voigtlander 21mm lenses - the older 21/4 Color Skopar, because it's so incredibly tiny compared to the Fuji 23mm and wider than the Fuji 27mm, and more recently the 21/1.8 Ultron, which was designed specifically for digital.

I haven't bought genuine Leica lenses, partly because of the expense, partly because I doubt they would offer a lot over the high grade lenses that Fuji offers, and partly because I'm told that many of the wider lenses have corner color and corner smearing issues on digital. Their 24/3.8 would be the first I'd look at...... it sits in among the bunch of 21, 23, 24, 25mm MF lenses I mull over trying one day......

Cheers,

Rod

Occasionally I mount a Leica Summicron -R 50mm/2 lens using a Fotodiox adapter. Nothing special doing that. Prefer mounting the Leica lens on my Panasonic G5.

I also mess around with a Canon 50mm/1.4

But there really isn't anything special about that other than that it can be done and you can do it using manual focusing which is easier with legacy glass .

I really prefer using the the FUJI lenses on my FUJI cameras. Thank you FUJI for the excellent lenses you produce. When it comes to the M4/3 G5 that is a different story. I actually prefer using the legacy glass for the fun factor - and the images do come out sharp. .

I have an assortment of Leica M lenses that I acquired in the late-70s through the mid-80s and frequently use them on my Fujis. While the Fuji lenses are wonderful, as everyone agrees, it is fun to use the Leitz lenses from time to time.

I have both the Fuji adapter and a Fotodiox adapter. The Fuji is better, but my 35 Summicron v4 doesn't mount on it, so I use the Fotodiox for that one, which is probably my most often used Leitz lens.

I also have, and use, a 21/2.8 Elmarit, 90/2.0 Summicron and several 50s, including a mid-50s collapsible, a chrome Summicron from the 60s, a later Summicron from 1970, and a Summilux.

You are welcome to have a look at this Flickr album, which consists of mostly Leica lenses on Fuji bodies: https://www.flickr.com/photos/ronssmith/albums/72157635028409127

Summicron 50 with Fotodiox. The contrast is less than with modern Fuji glass, but that can be adjusted in post.
