Pixma Pro 100s odd print results after Mac OS update

Hi,

We've got an iMac that has been fine with printing. However, after updating to the latest OS and the latest Print Shop Pro, the results have been terrible!

The images now have lots of odd lines across them and look overly pink / washed out. Also, Print Shop Pro is behaving massively weirdly. The lasted update just doesn't let us select menu items at all. You click on them and it just doesn't register.

We're brought to a complete standstill by this, wondered if anyone else out there has seen this weird behaviour or knows a solution.

Thanks,

I'm confused- the Mac software is called 'The Print Shop Mac', while the windows version is called 'The Print Shop Professional' . If you are using the Mac version the system requirements are Mac os up to 10.10 (the previous version of OSX). You might consider partitioning your hard drive and installing OSX 10.10 and printshop on the 10.10 partition. To choose which os to startup from hold down the 'alt' key on booting.

My bad, Print STUDIO Pro.

Used via Photoshop.

I did some searching around and found people talking about Magenta Cast and pointing fingers towards Double Profiling. So may find a way to look at that.

I don't think its double profiling because PSP goes right to the driver; it doesn't care what the settings in PS are.

Can you print correctly from PS or another photo software?

If you installed a new OS (El Capitan) did you reinstall the printer? Be sure you are adding the IJ version of the printer and not the Bonjour version of the printer.

Yeah, our Macbook is printing fine to it. Would you recommend re-installing the printer then as a first port of call?

The fact that none of the menu drop downs let us select anything in PSP is a bit disconcerting.

I would try uninstalling printer from the System Preferences->Printers & Scanners menu and re-add the printer (not the Bonjour version)

Verify you have the latest software:

Hi!

Apparently we've done the uninstall - reinstall (no bonjour) and the pink sheen persists.

This is across two pixma's too, a 100 and 100s. So certainly a setup issue rather than a printer one.

Print Studio Pro being faulty on El Capitan is apparently an issue. So wondering about rolling back to an earlier version.

Try printing directly from PS or LR without PSP and see what happens.

I'm away from my computer right now, but I will try printing from my MacBook when I can.

I printed the same image direct from Lightroom and then using Print Studio Pro. Latest version of PSP and El Capitan.

Both prints were correct No color cast.

if you are printing using ICC profiles double check that the media type and profile are correct

Oh the profiles mirror how we are set up on the MacBook. It's ever since we hit El Capitan on the iMac.

I'm thinking strip it back. Get an earlier version of PSP on there, not this broken latest version, and do some tests.
