Hi folks,

Besides the color pictures I took in a recent trip in Tokyo, I have also done a few rolls in black & white from my wanderings. As usual, my goal is to try to extirp/isolate subjects in a meaningful way in this busy mass apocalyptic environment.

All shots taken using Leica M7 with Zeiss 35mm and with Bergger 400 ISO film in some cases pushed to 1600 ISO.

Cheers,

Tibor

Dear Tibor, what a marvelous trip you had, and so beautifully documented with your always very thoughtful pictures. You have such a unique way of seeing things that a common mortal would never see. And, of course, such a craft for putting your view into images!.... Bravo!

Those that really stand for me are the followings:

Tibor,

Cool photos Tibor. Very cool.

I think the best photos in this set are actually where bits of the external environment creep into the frame and its not just about the isolated subject. Isolating subjects is easy and dull these are subtle clever photos. I also think they work well where you are hinting at things going on outside of the frame.

So for me, its not just the serene poise and stare in the photo below but the movement in the background that adds something to the photo.

Here the hidden face is mysterious but I want to know what that cranked picture is all about on the the wall?! I'm confused about the environment.

I think you've pushed your quirky compositions to a new level here:

Where are the legs going and am I underground or looking through a mirror?

I think this a good example of where there is a hint of story happening outside of the frame, whilst there is just enough going on inside the frame to hold viewers attention... the photo behind the girl and the upward glance of the girl in the background. Its great.

I visited Tokyo a couple of years ago, I loved the city but found it hard to take photos there. You have not only made it look easy but you have retained your own unique way of seeing the world.

Top stuff Tibor.
