Ok, so I decided to not go with Sony until they have a FF camera that has a fully articulated touch screen.

With the speedboosters getting so good lately, I decided to get a FF Canon.

I have about 2800 to 3000

Thinking about getting either one of these choices

1. 6D with 24-105L, 50mm f1.4 canon, LX100, and using a current monitor for youtube video monitoring.

2. 6D with 24-105L, and Panny G7 for 4k that has articulated touch screen

3. 5D MKIII with 24-105L and use the already purchased monitor as youtube video monitoring.

I have always really liked the 6D for general photography (i.e. Travel and Government)

Unless you're in a big hurry, imo wait for 5d4 in-case it happens to have 4k video option.

I'm chomping at the bit to buy a 6D also, but I promised myself I'd wait for the 6DmII - then I can decide if the new features/upgrades are worth the price increase, or get a slightly better deal on the 6D. I have a T1i now, so I can wait... (gotta keep telling myself that though!).

Lots of rumors out there on the 6DmII, but nothing much since this past spring. I'm hoping for:

- a release before Christmas 2015 (but probably won't see it until early 2016?)

- a few more focus points, and a few more cross-type

- a bit more bracketing range

- articulating screen (touch or not, but may as well use the one from the 70D or T6s)

- new digic6 CPU (whatever is latest)

- NFC (already has WiFi and GPS)

- built-in time-lapse timer (wishful thinking?)

Nice to have:

- slight bump in FPS

- dual-pixel AF (like in 70D) (or at least hybrid like in T6s)

I think the above is pretty reasonable (hope so, anyway)...

I liked the wi-fi on the 6D and it has excellent picture quality. If you don't need the faster FPS, or more focus points, it's a fine camera. The bodies are selling in the gray market for $1100. I suspect that when Canon releases the new version, it will have more resolution, as that seems to be the path of the industry.

I later went with a 5D3 because of the focus system, more resolution and faster FPS. It's a great camera. Gray market about $2000. We may see the new model soon... i'm hoping no later than the 1sr qtr of 2016.

The new 5Ds has come down in price recently and I think I saw it advertised for about $2600... for now.

The 24-105 is a versatile lens and I enjoy it. Many people also go for the 24-70 F2.8 ll or the F4 version for the image quality.

Good luck with your decision making. Shopping for this stuff is part of the fun and excitement.

Today they just there is a rumor at canon rumors and it basically said it won't be announced till first quarter 2016

Nope. The 5D4 will probably be spring of 2016, and the 6D2 some time after that. That said, it's probably worth the wait if you're only going to buy one body in the next 5 years. It will be a huge jump from the T1i to any current camera, but the T1i still takes good photos!

Reasonable. Canon apparently can't do that in the truly pro bodies, but it would seem to be a good fit for a 6D2.

I don't know why they don't do this but apparently they don't. Because they want to sell the remotes or payback from other remote vendors? :(
Nice to have:

- slight bump in FPS

Both of those seem likely.
