…and the beginning of a GAS attack for me scheduled to run for a year which is when I will be in a position to buy this super camera (except it ain't white and it has too many sharp edges_!

I hope! LOL!

Well, I am not particularly attracted to the sharp edges of the fake prism box either, but at least it is not as tall as the ones on the Olympus cameras. The G6 seems a bit prettier. Having said all that, the G7 may be the camera that replaces my venerable G1, (also have the GX7 and the GF1) so I will get used to the styling. Lenses come first, so it may take me a year too.

Glad your G6 can be repaired. Sorry about the cost. White cameras make perfect sense in the tropics. Hope a white G7 comes down the pipe later.

Honestly, I can hardly wait. I got into m43 with a Panasonic G10 which is still what I use. I didn't go for the G6 because it didn't have the latest sensor, used in the GX7. I am really hoping the G7 does. It is time to upgrade.

Will it have IBIS...

This may be my Christmas present in December 2016 when the price has dropped and they are doing cashback

Holding out for the GX8 announcement later myself... G7 looks very nice tho. G7's price and whether the GX8 gets to keep some form of IBIS are the biggest questions out there IMO.

I do wonder if the G7 will hold up better in the market throughout a two year cycle than the G6 did tho... It's mostly a perception thing than any technical merit, DFD/4K should help make it a pretty unique proposition for a while tho (how unique comes down to price).

Probably 5 Axis ..... a new generation sensor over 20Mp with (of course) Electronic 1st curtain and the Epson EVF panel in place of the old field-sequential one would be a worthwhile upgrade IMO .

Not sure what they`ve done with the G7 to make it anything more than a re-shaped GX7 minus the IBIS and some 4K ability & DFD added. it needs E-FC though
