E-M1 firmware update rumor.

Or additional film modes/fps rates. If the E-M5 II has the same chip as the E-M1, it should be possible to add its video modes by means of a firmware upgrade.

That makes sense. There was a video upgrade leak prior to V2.0. Maybe we'll get it now.

Full electronic shutter option would be great--Fuji implemented it via a firmware update, for example.

One of my most used features on my GX7 - if it had this I would likely get an EM1. There are just times when the shutter sound just cannot be tolerated and for me the 1/10 second overall exposure time of my GX7 is just fine (i.e. my subject is mostly still) and would be a great addition to the EM1.

An in camera focus stacking would be nice. Like the one on the tg-3.

For me...it's not the sound or lack there of that the electronic shutter is desired for, it's the reduced vibrations.

I spoke with a local Olympus dealer recently when I bought the HLD-7. We spoke about the E-M5 mk2 and he let me know to expect a big update coming to the E-M1. He said that Olympus wants to make sure that the E-M1 stays supported and up to date. If it's indeed the video capabilities, I'll have great use for it. Plenty of us will. High quality, multiple frame rates with IBIS.

Sweet! Hopefully 60fps 1080p as well.

Looks like the sensor shift may come to the EM1 if Gary is not joking around in his post. He sent his EM-1 in for dial repair and said he is getting 40MP images now after they did a firmware update.

I am sure Olympus is very keen on keeping the EM-1 the flagship micro four thirds model and an update will soon be released.
