Best place to buy Epson brand inks ?

Hi everyone,

I'm looking for the best place to buy Epson brand inks for my 1280.

I got the 1280 as a gift !!

I heard that the 1280 is very fussy about 3rd party inks...so I'm looking
for a place to save a few bucks, but still get the Epson ink.

Is this possible ?

I don't have a 1280, but just for fun, I checked the
OD vs. Altex prices - seems OD is a lot better.

For example, if you order (say) 1 Black & 2 Color
from Altex at 18.28 & 22.28 = $62.84 + shipping
(I did not check their shipping charge).

Now, if you order the same from OD at 27.95 +
23.94 =$75.83 then use the (almost always available)
$20 off coupon at:

= $55.83 with free shipping & usually next day delivery.

I have a Canon printer, but I have never found a better
place to buy their ink (and I keep looking!).

Sometimes there are better coupons / deals.

I know many like the "day in, day out" price strategy,
but to me, they are just higher prices "everyday". With
a few mouse clicks, you can do better.

If you order a lot of ink at one time, then I guess Altex
would be better.

ok, I goofed (ciphered 2 black & 1 color instead
of 1 black & 2 color for OD).

However, the total is still $59.84 for OD which
still seems better by a few bucks, especially after shipping
charges.

I have a 2200 and I have had good luck with altex.com …….the prices and service are both very good ……just make sure that you buy enough to off set the shipping cost

rof i think altex is in florida, not that there is anything wrong with that. anyhow the service is fantastic to nyc so they may have intermediate shipping points. thery appear to have every ink for every printer oem at great prices and cheap shipping. their site is well organized and it is simple to order. i ordered on a monday night. the next morning ups delivered the order. and the stuff is fresh dated too. viva altex! http://homepage.mac.com/rof

Unless their shipping prices have greatly increased in the last few months, $10 for shipping from Atlex is too high. On my last order, I ordered several 50-sheet packages of paper as well as 16 ink cartridges, and my shipping total was just over $7. I don't know what it would have been for just the ink.

I used Atlex but all of a sudden they started sending Chinese made Epson inks for my 1280.

The colors were much different from the Japanese Inks. At first, Atlex would take the Chinese inks back, and send Japanese ones, but then they refused to do so. They say the inks are the same. A person at Epson said they don't make any inks in China. I never got to the bottom of the matter, but I now order my inks from http://www.Inkjetart.com . I get Japanese inks, and excellent tech support.

I read on another bulletin board that there has been a huge influx in the US of counterfeit inks from Taiwan. Even the large dealers have been bitten. This sounds like what happened with Atlex, (although I have been extremely satisfied with their prices and service)

I checked the prices just before I posted and lexjet was exactly 2 cents more per cartridge. I just checked again and they both list $8.90/cartridge on their websites.
