As fall takes hold in the Northeast USA, I am inspired to start a new edition of this ongoing thread. Please post images that you love primarily because of their color. I will get things started with my first fall foliage shot. But, there is no seasonal requirement. Australian spring, Antarctic blue icebergs, tropical flowers, spilled cinnamon, whatever. This thread is for members in any part of the world. Because the sole criterion is the member's own love for the image, this is more a place for celebration than criticism. Newcomers are encouraged to participate. Posting an image in an ongoing thread may be easier than starting your own. Commentary and any extra camera/lens info is fine but optional. This thread is open to all cameras.

That's a gorgeous shot...one of the nicest I've seen around here in awhile.

Thanks. I have to say, it's not all that easy to find a color other than green in the cascades, especially over 5000ft. But I found one patch.

.Back Story ................

This morning I hear No# 1 Wife let out a scream !

Instantly I'm on the move with snake stick in hand.

We have 5 large plastic bowels where we do our laundry by hand .

I know this is the 21st century but that is what we have..It is what it is !

No# 1 is jumping around with a snake stick whacking away at the ground.

As I got closer it was easy to see what the problem is !

A TAKAP! (Vietnamese centipede) very very bad bad !!, very very bad bad !!

It was hiding close to one of the clothes washing bowels. Almost bit No# 1's hand.

Did I say these are very very bad bad ? !!!

We have them around here and some years are worse then others.

I personally know a handful of people that have been bit by one. Each person ended up in the hospital in excruciating pain with difficulty breathing.

I'll add some write ups on this critter from the internet ...............

"These giant centipedes are also known as “Chinese Red Headed Centipedes” and Asian Forest Centipedes”. You may find them underneath rocks, tree logs, damp foliage or partially buried in loose damp soil, they have also been known to shelter inside shoes.

A bite from one of these centipedes is extremely painful, the pain can last for 4 or 5 days. Severe swelling and bruising often results from being bitten, some people may suffer more adverse effects such as breathing difficulties and a rapid heartbeat. Children are especially at risk and should be taken to hospital immediately if bitten by one of these centipedes !

Of all the bugs in Thailand, I have to say this one “creeps me out” the most, this giant centipede has quite a fearsome reputation in Thailand. It is said that a bite from this monster centipede is excruciatingly painful, even more so than a snake bite !"

OK there ya go--

Jon&Crew,still in the jungle.

That one would've been great for the last challenge or the current one. Great shot.
