I really like the first!
But did they really use children in that war?
I agree. On that one I recognized the value of monochrome instantly... And for me to know that is saying something.Far less interesting IMOSurrealistic it is - are these clouds in the background (horizon)? Would have been interested in seeing the/a clolour version - although the picture works well for b&w.

Here is another version in pseudo HDRI think I like the 3rd best of these. I wouldn't be able to resist pimping it in HDR to bring out the colour and texture.

You've taken the drama out of the shot with this latest version. On this one I received some conflicting feedback so I tried some stuff. Again please let me know how I've addressed the halo/soft detail issue. Also, do you like it better lighter than the first? Too light now? Thanks. First is new. Second is original.
Bob, I put in a space but I think dpr strips it out??

Thanks. How about this, then...You've taken the drama out of the shot with this latest version.
Hopefully you slept well.#2 and #5 really grab me. I'm about ready to go to bed so I can't analyze but that is my gut reaction.
But it is so much fun to be able to see the world another way.5 is my clear favourite in all tems (colour, composition, angle, no tricks (samyang)).
Mmmm no, not all the time.Very good picture. These are the ones I like to take, but they don't come your way every day.
Actually it was almost shot on the fly while speaking with one of our neighbours in the gardens. I've shot quite a lot of vegetation already, in the 2 000 photos, and experience is finally speaking I guess. I used the Oly 12-40 f2.8 with the e-m1 and that's one very helpful/forgiving combo. But you were prepared.
Thanks for the news. It doesn't feel like it though when I consider all that there is to learn. But it is nice to feel just a bit out of balance at my age. Keeps me on my toes. You have already learned a lot, Learningforever.
Thank you kindly justpictures for your consideration. Your feedback helps a lot to consolidate what I acquired while making those photos.justpictures.
Coming from you this is strong reinforcement. Your photography is one of the most appreciated here in house. An interesting series, rather contrary subjects but all engaging. Well done.
