*** Mini-challenge 416 – Amateur Sports *** WINNERS
The entries certainly displayed the wide variety of sports and athletic activities we enjoy. I especially liked those where the athlete’s effort, concentration and determination were evident. Hence the bias in my selections.
Honourable mentions go to:
Richard’s “Air Time!” is a fabulous action shot. I can only imagine the thrill of sailing through the air, and the skill it takes to stay upright.

Karl did a great job in freezing the motion in his “Amateur motorcycle racing / training” photo.

The “Red Bull Soap Box Derby” entered by Peter also froze the action (or accident) very well. I was amused by the facial expressions of the spectators. The seemed delighted by the misfortune as one might be at a demolition derby

Third place goes to Wilba’s “Wheelcats 1”. I liked how he captured the right moment when the shooter’s concentration and spectators’ anticipation were at their peak.

Second place was earned by Richard’s “Determination”. This ball player is definitely trying his best and putting all he has into that pitch.

First place is awarded to chile7236’s “Cut back”. A great action shot that really captures the essence of surfing. A well composed photo (and well composed surfer) caught in his element. Well done! I’ll pass the next mini-challenge on to you chile7236.
