AF is possible with Pentax KAF2 mount lenses with a maximum aperture of f4 or larger...
But amongst the compatible lenses mentioned, is also the Pentax HD560mm that features a maximum aperture of f5.6. Of course a warning is given that phase AF may be inaccurate.
So I'm now trying to guess how it will operate with the Sigma 500/f4.5, that should be ok. but AF is so important at a 700mm focal length....
They seem to have gone for the uncompromising IQ route, judging by the price...

Pentax AF is working till 5,6 without any problems
DA*300 + AF adapter 1,7x gives 6,7 without any problems ;-)
The optical quality of the new converter is very high with DA*300,absolute on Canon 1,4x III niveau
