Any creative solutions to covering viewfinder?

The D30 comes with a separate viewfinder cover. Maybe you could
order one from Canon.

or else I haven't checked my box well enough. The D30 I bought was in almost new shape as far as box, cables (not opened), manual, etc. I need to check out the box and see if I missed that.

Other than cutting apart the 10D strap? Can I buy a Canon
viewfinder cover or the like?

i used to have a copule of older models. and i remember there was a VF ruber cap attached (removable) to the strap. so it was possible to take it out if needed. i don't think Canon chenged the VF design since then.

Bought my D30 from B&H in July 2001. I don't have the original packaging but I did manage to put the viewfinder cover in my bag. It's come in handy on my 10D since I replaced the 10D strap with an OP/Tech. I'm sure you can get a replacement from Canon. I should probably get a back up myself in case I ever lose it.

With all you've invested in L lenses and cameras plus associated equipment, this would seem to be a relatively inexpensive purchase-buy another strap.
I just figure if I sell the camera, I should sell the strap that
came with it. The new owner might like it and want that piece of
plastic.

None of your posts have been helpful, just smart a** remarks.

And any directed at Julie will not fly well on this forum -- but if you had READ many threads you'd already know how well she is liked and respected here.

For you: nothing to see here, please move along

Or just during a longer (say, 1 second or longer) exposure?
