Canon 6D at Best Buy right now for $1573.99 - Good price?

Just went and picked one up. Seemed like a good deal right? You have to add it to your cart and check out to buy it. Don't know how long the sale is on for. I had purchased a Nikon D610 yesterday, used it all day, the ergonomics were killing me. So then I saw this and figured hey why not give it a try. Bought it with a 50mm. Battery was completely dead out of the box, waiting for it to charge to play with my new toy. :-)

Seems to be the current pricing on the camera. That said, you are getting a lot of camera for the money. The 6D is a wonderful little camera that takes great pictures. Enjoy!
 
if you don't mind refurbished, canon refurbished has a body for 12xx something right now.

Exactly right. There aren't any $1200-something 6D's anywhere. The refurbished on Canon site continues to be the best price going. They had a $100 off last month which is to date the best. So Best Buy price is a great deal for fully new. Most still selling at $1,799-1,899.
 
not sure what state you live in but why not buy at B&H @ same price & no tax? it's the same price as BB when you check out @ B&H. & free shipping of course. and even if you live in NY ST, you also get ton of free stuff like SD card, canon go bag, monopod etc... so it seems like better deal.

and no, I'm not affiliated w/ those guys at all, just thought I pass on the info.

Better question: Will there be a better price around Black Friday? I'm willing to wait, myself, if it will be a few hundred more cheaper. This is my first year following prices.

Also, if you buy from Adorama, the price in cart is $1,573. For that price, new, you also get:
  • A 16gB SD card
  • LI rechargable battery pack
  • Manfrotto monopod
  • A sling backpack
With all those goodies, the Adorama deal is better, no?

I'm liking the sling backpack option better. B&H has the battery too. Is Adorama battery OEM or AM? Also liking Manfrotto brand better. Have they always offered all those w/ FF cameras? or is this something new? were you only looking at the body?

I, too, was also following(massively) the D6 pricing before I(had) to pull the trigger last thursday, the $1999 combo deal wif 24-105/printer/paper rebate offer @B&H, Since I was also in the market for the L zoom lens. It was too good to pass...and hellava deal I thought. I doubt they will have something better during BF. If they do it wouldn't be for much less, I thought, so I just shot it. had to...

Wow, that sounds like a great deal, Shootaman! You could even just sell the lens (i would ) and net it out of the cost of the camera.

I washed my hands with B&H after they send me a brand new camera in a mangled box with poor, shoddy bubble wrap... TWICE! I sent it back to them and reordered, and they send another! The box looked like my three year old had beaten it in the rain for a week with a golf club. and they shoved the camera to one side of the box and just stuffed the padding in the other side. I would have carefully wrapped new bubble wrap around the entire camera. I think the drunk monkey in the shipping department needs a lunch break. I wont be ordering from such a place again.

Battery looks to be aftermarket. IDK if this is something new or not. yes, body only. I am not interested in the 24-105, personally. I'm looking at either 24-70 (not the Mark II) or the 17-40. Just my $0.02.

The factory-refurbished Canon 6D is still available for $1215 at Canon Direct. My previous comment with a screen cap that showed the price to be still in effect was removed for some reason.

Please refer to Forum Rule 10 (and note it is a bannable offence to use promotional codes in your posts). Your screen cap clearly showed the promotional code. Hope that makes it a bit clearer.

You have been given some leeway this time as you are a longtime member and valued contributor and I doubt you intended to break the rules.

What you COULD do is repost the screen cap with the promo code removed or blurred-out. ;-)

Fact is though, this thread will soon be locked if people continue to publish promotional codes. Unfortunately you are about the fifth person to break this rule in this thread!

Seems like the bumdle deal that just passed, $2000 for 6D, 24-105mm lens, and a Canon printer, is a much better deal. Yes it expired a week ago, but we will probably see even better heading into black friday and Christmas, don't you think?
