I agree with Duane. You're off to a good start. Keep shooting. Study other people's portraits. Try shooting under different lighting conditions.DuaneV wrote:
Too many for me to comment on each individually, but overall I like them. The only one I didn't care for was the full bodied one on the stairs. I could probably nitpick each, but again, overall I like them.
Thank You for your time. Yes I have permission to post, but only from her, so I will keep in mind for next timepaintballnsk wrote:
Hope you got a model release for the last one lol.
JK, just be careful what you shoot under 18. You might annoy some parents.
Only thing about them that bothered me was the retouch. I know not everything needs to be a baby skinned porcelain doll. But I would have definitely stamped out the mole on her nose. As a casual observer I find it a little distracting.
Thank you Greg, I appreciate it.latestart wrote:
I think you did great with the SB-900. The lighting is something I would love to achieve.
Thanks.

Thank you. Yes, mine fault..i wonder how it happenedhuyzer wrote:
I like #1, 3, and 6. #3 has a little masking artifact; a magenta, triangle like shape on the edge of her face (right cheek area).

For me, 1, 3, and 4 are cropped to tightly on top of her head, although her expressions are really good in all of them. Overall, I like the steps shot best (but level the horizon, please) and the one below it. She's a good subject for you, seems at ease in front of the camera, and is not afraid to change her expressions. Shoot some more with her!
Thank You, I will keep in mind.mizunosport wrote:

Haha. No problem. If you don't know, I don't know.PeeJer wrote:

Oh my gosh, I didn't notice that mole at all. I think moles are fine. If I do do a retouch, then I fade out the retouch by 50%, and leave it there, because that's them. I think because she's attractive, I didn't notice the mole.PeeJer wrote:

Third picture was shot without flash. Yes, that mole is funny

I'd love to be enlightened about what exactly you consider provocative in these shots, let alone too provocative.mizunosport wrote:

Absolutely agree, If I was her father. She is 17 and ask me for few shots. I chose place and time.mizunosport wrote:
How old is she? I assumed UNDER 18 and in that case were she my daughter she wouldn't be wearing a see through net top with what looks like a bra/bikini top showing. I'm not a fan of the bare leg thigh shot with her chest pushed out, but had she been wearing jeans I probably would think it was a great photo. I am conservative parent. That's all.
