When I see how many X-M1's are available on ebay and in stock everywhere I get the impression that it is not a huge succes. Won't take long before they will be $499 body and $599 with lens.

I don't know. I am enjoying mine very well. I came from Canon 40D with 17-40L lens before I sold them few years ago. It's a fun camera for sure and gives me Amazing result ! I use Fujinon XC 16-50 f/3.5 - 5.6 lens. :-)

Hi, i tried an X-M1 in a local camera store, i thought that it felt and looked like a nice camera, the focus was good with the 16-50. My biggest gripe was the two control dials were very close to each other and made my fingers all scrunched up around the camera. I also used the Ricoh GR on the same visit and the control dials on that were much better placed. The assistants said the fuji X-E1 has been getting a lot of attention and has been selling well and they had high hopes for the little X-M1, hope it works out for them. I guess its just another choice for consumers. The price will inevitably fall at some point, most probably in Nov ready for the xmas buying period.

Cheers Jon

Give Fuji a break - the XM1 has only been out for five minutes. At least it's available. I would have thought that healthy stocks are evidence of well planned supply early in the life of a model. Surely it's a tad early to start making "failure" calls......

I couldn't agree more about the awkward position between the two control dials. Looking forward to buy 35 1.4 in few weeks time ! :-)

I think that's by design - the X-M1 was designed for the mass market - manufacturing has been moved out of Japan into one of those mass volume factories - same for the kit lenses - think its made in China.

For the X-M1 its a success - no more unfulfilled orders.

Do you really believe its a question of weeks and not months or more for the 35mm ?

If everything avbailable on eBay is a failure we need to shut down the world.

What are you saying ? I am all excited about what this X-Trans sensor can do...! :-)

I think he's talking about when he can afford the 35, not the 23.

Oh yes. thought about 23 1.4 but have been shooting by set the zoom ring at 35 mm and it suits my style. 23 1.4 would be a bit wider for my taste although I have my iPhone to compliment it. So yes, will go for 35 1.4 :-)

That zoom, like the Leica X Vario's, looks pretty good from here - those are tasty shots.
Thank you mate. Love what this sensor can do. While shooting on a fine weather, I set the color at Velvia and shoot it with Aperture Priority between 5.6 and 8 most of the time. With Fine OOC JPEG, I did a very minimum adjusted on Levels with no colour or sharpness adjustment at all. Haven't try RAW yet.

I'm pretty sure someone posts this thread, or a variation of it, for every product release from Fuji.
