Share with us you Best Flower shot.

hello raymond:

thanx for constructive advice. i did cropping due to your suggestions and here it is:

http://www.arnason.no/modules.php?set_albumName=album10&id=PICT0066a&op=modload&name=gallery&file=index&include=view_photo.php

this picture is about how quickly our lifes are going. this tulip is not being damamged - it is fadeing. everybody love blooming flowers and everybody love to make pictures of them. not too many of us want to make pic of flower ending its short "life in beauty". this picture is one of very few of this kind, i have.

regards

jack

You really have a story to tell with that interest picture of the faded tulip.
Pictures are powerful story tellers.
Thanks for sharing,

Here's my entry: (I like the way the petals seem to be opening up, embracing the sunshine)

I think this is one of my best taken todate. What about you?

For me, the joy of photography is not about taking
great pictures. It's getting the chance
to take pictures at all.

Thanks for the complement. It was taken outdoors. The flower happened to be by the pool at a friends in Florida, so all I had to do is get off the chaise lounge and walk a few feet to get the shot, i'm a rather lazy photographer. If you go to my gallery, most every flower shot was taken with a black background, while not new, a favorite technique of mine, and soo easy...Dave

as soon as I get the money together for a 7hi. Anyway for this image, I used a collapsable reflector which has a black side as a background. Image was then processed in PS...Dave

Hello to Ruan and All,

Against your call, Ruan, this time I had no way out, but to try my best to be able to participate in this wonderful thread by sharing some of my recent shots.

Let me go this way:

1. This is my first and only macro I have ever done since I bougth my D5 last April...its a shot made of a rose in the garden of my parents-in-law...probably it looks like some kind of a commomplace shot, the only thing missing might be that little bee buzzin' around! ;-))

2. This one might not be a real flower in terms of your subject, but let me share it here on this thread anyway. Its a green plant with some interesting details.

Please take a look at this pic..closely...the thing you see in the middle being just a wee bit yellowish-green is not a part of the plant...its an animal, an insect, a creature living in such a surrounding, but gifted by nature to be able to camouflage itself... perfectly!!! Please enjoy it! Thanks! (Taken at the Insect House of the Zoo of Budapest)

Cheers, Feri

Glad to see you participate. Your rose is already nice but if you want a bee
you can borrow it from my shot here :-):

The leaf insect is also interesting but beware of my insect eating plant:

Nice shot, Bob, maybe if you want to improve it abit further, you can clone stamp off the red patch at the bottom right hand corner. Also have you tried bouncing off the flash light with a white card board (or a defuser on your flash) for it may produce a less harsh and less refective image.
Thanks for sharing.

Here's my input. It was taken at My daughter's house in Wisconsin
last Xmas.

Hi Raymond,

Here is a couple of mine.

Please any critique is welcome :-) Flowers is not my strong point but the photos are so pretty I try to take some anyway.

Hi Russell,

I like all your flower shots. The only exception being the 2nd one which I thought was slightly too bright. And because of that, it was a very suitable picture for editing, especially burning and dodging. So I can resist trying a quick one on it (may not be a good job).
