I WISH that the Pana LF1 will replace the almost 10 years old Panasonic DMC-LC1 as this was and still is one of the best camera/lens combination on a fix system. By the time it will be available to public, it will be it's 10th year anniversary. Just in case, I'm going to start saving it mys wish do come true.

I'm not even going to speculate on the sensor size, # of megapixels, size, weight, etc. as long as they keep the lens that this camera had or a better one.

The one improvement that I would like is to make this a weather sealed camera.

But that camera had a mirror.

I think a lot of us have had that dream for a while now.

I still shoot with mine and with my Digilux 2 all the time. The very best lens sensor combination I have ever shot with. I am not sure about the mirror thing...

Yes we do. And I hope that for once, it will come true.

They were one of the best camera made. As you mentioned, it is the BEST lens sensor there was. Had a chance to used one way back. A friend of mine bought the RED Dot brand which is the same camera s this and fell in love with it (price is the only factor why I did not get one for myself) and he still use it to this day. The photos OOC still still beats some of the modern cameras of today. I just wish that the LF1 is the 10th year anniversary replacement.

The latest rumor is sadly going into the wrong direction.

Quote from 43rumors; "We were all expecting the camera to use a FT or APS-C sensor but the upcoming Panasonic high end compact camera with fixed lens and built-in viewfinder uses the same sensor size of the current Panasonic LX7! Apparently Panasonic preferred to focus on real pocketable size and high quality lens performance."

Luckely my Digilux 2 is still working fine.
