I like the camera but I'm confused about Sony's drive mode description: "You can set a drive mode, such as continuous, self-timer, or bracket shooting."

Does this mean that it is NOT possible to use simultaneously the exposure bracketing option and the self-timer? That would be pretty annoying if you want to shoot HDRs.

Thanks for helping.

damn, you are correct, one or the other, not both, that is a blunder on Sony's part.

Not only that:

- You're limited to a weak +/- 2/3 EV bracket - also a problem on some of the older Alpha DSLT and NEX cameras, if you can believe that!
- You have to continue to hold the shutter through all three exposures

This was one of the few things holding me back from getting an RX100 when I was shopping around. I ended up going with it and haven't been limited by it yet, largely thanks to the very good dynamic range that the sensor supports without having to resort to AEB. We'll see how much of a non-issue it is for me in the middle of the summer.

yes, that's true. And if, after selecting the auto HDR function, you try to activate the timer (left position on the control dial), the rx100 tells you that the button is not active while in HDR mode.

Huh, that's weird. I wonder why they'd extend that limitation to the AutoHDR? Is Sony working on the assumption that the only reason anyone would use the timer is for selfie portraits, for which no one would want to use HDR?
