Once again I am having problems in my gallery with photos that won't enlarge from the thumbnail. This means I am unable to enter them in a challenge. This has happened again with my last uploaded image called 'Antarctic blue ice'. There is also another photo that sometimes enlarges but often doesn't further along in my gallery, called 'Rose with attitude'.

This is about the fourth time I have had this problem. As I loaded the Antarctica one 2 days ago, I can't blame impatience. Does anyone have any ideas please?

Thanks in advance

Jen

Just had a look and for me as a viewer they’re both working fine.

Jen -

I too have to say that I located the Antarctic pic easily enough and that enlarged easily - two clicks in fact - from your Gallery..I can't too readily find the other you mentioned but tried one or two and none seem to give any bother in opening as they should...

Thank you Steve and Eric. This is still playing up for me. Do you know how I contact someone - site host etc, from DPR?

The image at your DPR Gallery page at:

http://www.dpreview.com/galleries/5808345423/photos/2274518/antarctic-blue-ice

... shows the Medium and Large sizes when clicking once or twice (respectively). Be aware that those version are down-sampled (if any pixel-dimension exceeds 1200 pixels) and they are all re-encoded to smaller byte-size JPGs (using 2x2 Chroma Sub-sampling, and a Quality Factor of 90).

I have never dealt with the "Challenges" interface, so I don't know the particulars on that ...

Note that if you do not want the DPR system to re-encode (and potentially also down-sampled) your uploaded JPG images, you can enable the downloading of Originals (in your DPR profile settings). Then, an additional link will appear (along with the Small, Medium, and Large links) in your DPR Gallery web-pages. That is the only way to allow access to your actual originally uploaded JPG images (free from being re-encoded and potentially down-sampled).

Thank you Detail Man.
