Let's see you and your lenses!

It's not really overkill if one's primary photography is done of
musicians. Some of them in dimly lit bars.
Unless, of course, one is willing to use flash. Been there, done
that.
I'll agree with you there, ambient light is far preferable to flash.

But then I'd lose my physique. LOL.
David, you probably never heard about fasting.
Fasting is free and terribly unforgiving to many illnesses,
specially skin related illnesses. If you start investigating about
water fasting (where you don't eat anything at all but can't sip
water when you fell like it), you will hear or read plenty of
stupidity, mostly brought forward by people who think they are
knowledgeable but who have never fasted themselves.
Get the right info from those who know: Read "Fasting" by Dr
Herbert Shelton or "Fasting can save your life" from the same
author. The author dedicated his (long and healty) life to the
study of fasting and to helping people cure early cancers and
hundreds of other illnesses. The very simple biological act of
resting your body and digestive system will let your system cure
his problems that are on the Not-Enough-Ressources-To-Cure-Now
waiting list.
His books are old and he, himself, is dead. But you can bet
fasting is simple enough not to evolve over 50 years ;)
Why don't you hear about fasting? $$$$ Who makes money when you
don't eat and don't buy pills?
Why do you hear BS about fasting? FEAR
Why do pharmaceutical company make big bucks? Because they know
that those who don't know can't speak. Fasting will never be
taught to physicians.

You must be very cautious as to what you eat and in what quantity
when you start eating again, but all is explained in that book.
Go ahead, give it a try. I know what I am talking about : with a 12
day fast, I cured myself of a major skin illness that wouldn't go
away for years.

Having seen a number of your images you are just the guy to do it. But for heavens sake, at least put on long pants, socks and shoes before you go over.

Another Rosecea sufferer (and red hair is not a factor in Roseacea, I have red hair and Rosecia). Did I spell Rosecea correctly?

George Smith

It's rosacea.

Yeah, I think I'd dress more normally. I want to shoot him playing the guitar, not rolling on the floor laughing. ;)

I just hope he's not hiding an electric guitar with a bunch of stomp boxes and a huge amp in that house. ;)

Well I just take the pills, I usually don't spell it.

My boys have my huge amp. My wife is happier with it gone.

Simple.

Somebody reported him to Phil (after he allgedly reported me).

Then he disappears.

Then part of the thread that got reported by both people gets whacked (by Phil, presumably).

Phil has banned people before. I can attest to that. ;)
But I'd love to know makes you think anyone got banned?

I assume you're taking doxycycline or tetracycline?

I guess not everybody is affected by it the way I was (super sensitivity to the sun). But a lot of people are.

I took it for years. Sure made flying R/C planes a pain. Especially since I hate putting on sunscreen all the time.

I read the complete thread, kind of like watching a car wreck,
don't you think? He did say he was leaving, so who knows, maybe
thats what happened. But honestly, there was more than one
party that was at fault there if you know what I mean.

The guy who did it emailed me and told me he had done it.

Yep, he said it. So he leaves the entire forum? Maybe. Guys like that usually stick around for more than a day or two.
But honestly, there was more than one

It takes two to tango, or so they say. I just have a thing for beating trolls at their own game, sometimes. Except I confound them with logic. LOL. Inevitably, they resort to Wilkinsons and stalking comments.
He banned you?
Great story to that one, too. LOL. Gotta be the first time in history somebody was banned for sticking up for the webmaster.

I take tetracycline and back when I went to the Dr about it I also had a cream that I would rub on, but it smelled pretty bad (must have had sulfer in it or something) so I stopped the cream and have done the tetracycline for at least 6 years now. Helps quite a bit.

Being red haired I have always had an issue with the sun. Just part of being red haired.

Where in Houston do you live? I moved back to Minnesota 2 years ago now after a nearly 3 year stint there. I lived in Sugerland just off of Sweetwater Blvd. Pretty near the 10th hole of one of the two Sugarland CC courses.

I used to go to a place over in south east houston (can't recall the towns name off hand) where these people hosted (usually) acoustic performers quite often from Austin. They called it something like Texas night house concerts. Pretty cool stuff. I would think you could get some nice photographs there, though I only brought my guitar along at those gatherings to jam with everyone else after the concert.

I can look up the email of those folks if you are interested. Nice atmosphere, done often in the back yard, sometimes in the house.

If you are LOL, then I guess it's just that you don't like the sun. Fine with me, not a big friend of him either.

But with the savings you would make on medicine, you could buy me a 85/1.2 as a way of showing your gratitude, no?

Think about it ;)

that bit of ugliness.

Is the thread still here ?

I don't know if you saw the other message where I mentioned this, but you owe it to yourself to try this:

http://www.purpleemu.com/store/arcreme.html

Better than any prescription cream I ever had.

I live up on the north side. Conroe to be exact.

I get down to Houston every now and then for something. But generally I stay up this way.

What kind of music do you play? Are you familar with Davin James and Tommy Alverson?

I think I beat him fair and square, without resorting to ad homenim attacks (like he did). I'm sure a few were entertained. Many probably not. Oh, well. I'm not ALWAYS like that. But the guy couldn't seem to accept the fact that I know something about lenses and mis-focusing and testing them. And when he questioned my "credentials", I delivered. He never did.
Is the thread still here ?
I'm sure it is, somewhere. Though I think my posts got deleted from public view. Hehe. All they were was a series of 10 messages:

10 left

It's done!

To get the thread to the max of 150 and end the Phil-bashing.

I'd had enough. Under the same circumstances, I might do it again, too. Maybe.
