miniature

This is a picture of a 1:12 scale miniature general store that my late Mother made.

I think we are talking about two different things but just figured I would throw this in as it's a real miniature scene.

Wow I love it! I gotta check out the miniature mode on my nex-7.

Does the camera create the linear blur or is that done in photoshop? I know the tags of your photos say "Original"

Can the blur be adjusted in any direction or is it preset by the camera?

Just asking...

Yep its all done in camera, with the option to select where the 'in focus' band is - horizontal/vertical top bottom middle.
A similar effect can be done in PS but I'm too lazy!
the 'original' is just a tab that allows you to view the full sized image.

If posters upload with this enabled you should press 'original' as you can view an extra large image.

That's interesting! I didn't even know that we had that feature... Good to know. Thanks

Worry about the image that comes out of the box, rather than the box itself.

The effect looks OK when done horizontally (like in pics 3 and 4), but when rotated 90 degrees as in your first two pics, it honestly just looks bad to be.
