the term 'tear-sheet' is widely used in the model/fashion industry and i believe thats where the term came from. Ideally, models whom have had any of their photos printed seek out these printed samples for their portfolio or comp-card more so than photographers do. Basically their proof to show one's ability as an artist in their chosen industry.
Just got the book delivered today. The front of the book has one
of those moving picture, plastic grid thingys, so it looks a little
odd when photographed.

It is printed on fairly cheap paper so the picture doesn't look too
hot, but still pretty cool :-)

Nice to see hard work ... a shot that required knowledge, planning, and effort (all dependent on skill :) ... pay off like that ! Your entire portfolio looks like very intentional work (not "lucky" stuff like mine). I admire that !

Congratulations !!!

Hahahahaha

As part of the contract you have to eat at least 10 hotdogs in 10 minutes or there is no deal...they are heartless beasts.

. . . to have on your tear sheet! Now you can say you made it into
Ripley's! WITHOUT having to pogo stick for 14 days straight!

Congratulations!

Hmmmmm. Pogo stick you say? 14 days would be a lot of moons worth of photos. Shay didn't have to stay outside that long to take those shots, and the payoff was probably a lot better. Needless to say all the punishment and wear and tear a pogo stick would incur in that amount of time.

Photography really is a better hobby! I bet he's jumping up and down over being published as if he was on a pogo stick though!

I just delved into this thread a few minutes ago, so "Way to go, Shay!!!"
