My first tear sheet

Does he explain the optical effect (why the moon looks smaller when whiter)?

I think it's due to the higher contrast...if I remember my Color Theory course correctly :)

It looks like a cool book to have your photo in.

Gosh Shay the man on the front cover is enough to put you off buying the book hu? hehehehe!

Congratualtions, Shay........how neat is that hu? wow ya made it into a book with an Ugly dud on the front :)
I think your picture looks better than the front cover :)

Just got the book delivered today. The front of the book has one
of those moving picture, plastic grid thingys, so it looks a little
odd when photographed.
It is printed on fairly cheap paper so the picture doesn't look too
hot, but still pretty cool :-)

The book does not reference color and size for this picture, just the fact that the moon looks more orange due to the thicker atmosphere it travels through, like the sun at sunset looking more orange when low on the horizon.

It is primarily a children's book, so the explanations are kept simple :-)

Hehehe you should see the animation, the guy opens his mouth and a mouse jumps out. So it is much worse in real life than the picture shows!!! Hehehe but it is a childrens book, so I suspect the ugly dude with the mouse in his mouth will go over big with the kids ;-)

What a perfect picture for that kind of pub. Congratulations!

Did you release only limited rights? It seems that pic would appeal to a wide range of publications—particularly textbooks.

Well the book showed up just now, but the deal went down last year. It takes a while for them to go through the process and then have the books rolling off the presses. Three other books are still in the works, but I think all of them will also be published this year. So it can take a while.

Book rack, that is. ;-)

If you mentioned the others in an earlier post I missed it. That could prove to be a very popular pic. Might even become a standard. Got an agent yet?
