I picked up the 60mm this evening.

On the way home I took a few shots.

Enjoy.

(I am very happy with its performance. Auto focus was spot on in very low light)

Sorry. I am not in the US.

I am in Bangkok.

Did the photos look like they were from the US?!

:)

The one with the fish seller and the bare bulbs - beautiful! That's the kind of photography that puts me back on the right track, thinking about light and expressions, not about gear.

You've got it!

I have a Canon 1D MKIV, 5D MKII, 14mm L, 8-15L, 35L, 24-105L, 100L Macro, 85L 1.2, 70-200 2.8 IS, 300mm 2.8 IS

AND THIS CAMERA HAS ME EXCITED ABOUT TAKING PICTURES!

If I'd have had my Canon with me, I might have gotten similar shots (and maybe a few extras) but maybe a few less too. The people were not at all shy about me pointing this little thing at them. The 1D MKIV and 70-200 on the other hand is quite intimidating.

OOC! I might have done some small crops but no adjustments at all.
Amazing as usual! Especially like the 2dn and 3d ones.
These are all OOC JPGs again?

Hi, thanks for the info/images. Since you seem to be one of the very little people that actually own the 60 by now, I would love to ask you about two things regarding this lens:
  • Focusing? How fast/slow did you find it, how does it compare to the 35?
  • Macro? We know by now it's not a real macro lens, but, just how close can you get with it, what kind of magnification can we expect from this lens?
Thanks in advance for your time and your kind replies.

Cheers,

Erik.

No problem.

It seems fractionally slower focusing from closest to infinity. Not by much though. It seemed to lock on to my subject VERY close in speed to the 35.

The Macro is magnification is x 0.5. I honestly won't be using it for serious macro work (I have the Canon 100L IS Macro for that) but when I am out and about, it is reassuring to have something that will do close focusing.

Nice shots. Does make me wonder what lenses to buy. You've demonstrated yet again the IQ at high ISO. I'm just not sure a 90mm lens will get the same use for me as a WA and standard

I'll definitely start with the 35mm and then have a choice
WA or tele

I'd love to hear your thoughts

The opening price is about $2300 so will just start with one. I'm going to sell my canon 300mm f2.8L IS to finance all this

Thanks again
Rob

Thanks once again for the prompt reply. The X-Pro is getting more and more interesting as a system. I believe it will be replacing my Canon 5DMKII very soon, as my photographic interests are very limited and will be mostly well served by this camera.

Keep the good work coming...

Cheers,

Erik.

I especially like the shot over the market and the fish. ..... Have you had a chance to use manual focus? And, if so, what did you think of it? Also, have had a chance to shot with all the F stops? And, did you see any problems with resolution at the smaller F stops? .... I've been reading alot about defraction issues with high MP sensors on the one in the Nikon D800. I was wondering if similar problems existed with APS-C sensors. .... Thanks in advance if you see this and respond.
:-)

I really enjoyed these!
