CR3 - Announcement soon for the 5D2 successor

I'm starting a vigil from today till the the announcement day. No meat, no alcohol, no drugs. Just kidding. I am as impatient as you are. CR3 means: "Treat it is a fact". No fails so far, I think.
The possibility of 2 FF bodies soon is most interesting.

It will be interesting to see if the "scientifically proven" 38 MP pans out. I hope it doesn't but it will make a certain amount of sense from a perceived consumer perspective.

It will be interesting to see. I think the 5D3 may actually be the 22MP FF 7D that several sites are predicting. I think the high megapixel camera is the "4K" video capable camera. If you look at what they did with the HD Cinema video camera, it uses a 3840x2160 sensor (double the resolution of 1920 HD). I think one of the Cinema articles explained it but I don't remember why. If you blow that one on down to 35mm porportions (2x3) you get 3840x2560=9.8MP. That would yield a 7680x5120=39MP if they double the sensor horizonal resolution again for the 4K video capable camera. Who knows...

slap, slap, slap (Sound of hose)

It will be an exciting couple of weeks. I just hope there isn't a lot of lag time before it's available.

All the chatter certainly helps build up the excitement, sorta like when we were all kids at Christmas. We are grown up, right?

This is exciting. I just hope it utterly destroys in the High ISO department. Everything else is just gravy to me :)

Great, can't wait;)

At this point NR would already have crops, images of camera, specs down to the smallest details, no surpises left. It's been like that for the last 3-4 years already. Either Nikon are less careful, the NR guy is being served by Nikon themselves or he's really good.
Well, they haven't much to be wrong about - a 5DII successor, not sure what it will be called..
