With that price? Heck, from that store I wouldn't buy. I can't even find them on reseller ratings or a quick internet search. Always buy from reputable companies, this wouldn't be one.

The reason they are sold out is because they probably never had them in the first place, a lot like the UK stores that have them listed as sold out. (Although, some of those stores do look much more reputable.) You'll notice the place you linked to also has an outrageous price on the GPS device and slapped sold out on it too.

In the US, until I see the FT1 pop-up on Adorama and B&H's sites, I know it is just vaporware. Once it is officially close to being available, they will have it listed on their site.

I agree with everything that you've written but can confirm that these prices are bogus. I called Nikon and was told that the FT1 hasn't yet arrived so they have no price for it and the GP-N100 is currently available from some dealers but not from Nikon's store. B&H does in fact have the GP-N100 in stock and it's only $149.95, not AC-Electronic's $1298.10 which is the same price that they list for the FT1 which you already saw. Even if the FT1 has electronic components, they should be much less expensive than the optical elements in Nikon's other teleconverters that sell for $500, more or less. My guess is that Nikon will sell the FT1 for between $400 and $500. Lens adapters to allow mounting one camera manufacturer's lenses to another manufacturer's bodies are usually very inexpensive, a small fraction of the price of Novoflex's lens adapters that generally sell for between $200 and $300, which also have no optical elements.

Novoflex adapter for AIS and AF-G lenses en NEX cameras allows control of the aperture value, through a dedicated ring.

It will certainly be sold soon for One system, but now, we can only hope Nikon's FT-1 will come soon, as it is listed on lots of stores for 250-300 $, or 220-250£.

The big advantage of the FT-1 is the electric coordination between AFS lenses ans the body, that will allow a proper exposure in all modes, not only manual guess-exposure.

First try :

Which means it will likely (hopefully) be about $250 in the US. Unfortunately for Europe, Nikon tends to make that conversion pretty easy.
