I've tried to find the menu you describe to put in owner's name and either my camera doesn't have it or else I'm just not looking in the right place even though I've cycled through all the options several times. As a new G3 owner, can you be more specific as to exactly where this menu is located...do I start under the "rec" or "display" setting and then "menu" or "func" and then what? I'd appreciate any specifics you can give. Is this an "audible' setting or something you key in?

HI,

use your PC it is more simple:

In ZoomBrowser program, click "Camera & Memory card"
then click the "Set" icon on the bottom
the choose "Camera Sttings"

here you go!

Thanks Eric, but I have a Mac, not a pc, and no zoom browser. Maybe it is a lost cause for me?

Hmmm, after looking in the manual, I found nothing comparable on the Mac version... bad thing. Maybe you could just find a PC for the time you put your name in the camera or wait until canon release a new version of their software...

Good luck!

Hello Eric

If you don't have zoombrowser, there is perhaps another solution:

On my Pc (perhaps your mac too), I see my camera listed as a drive (camera icon) when connected to the usb port. If I right-click with my mouse on that icon and choose properties thers is a menu with different settings, one of them is the owner's name....

Just try it.

O.K., I found the place in the Canon Iimage Browser on my Mac for setting the owner's name, but now where do I find it in the camera to see if it is there?

Hi,

if you look at the exif of the image you shooted, you name should be in the owner's section. I never saw the information elsewhere...

I think I'm a slow learner ! What is an "exif" of an image. I need a glossary of terms ! :-)

Click on Glossary in the upper left corner of your screen, then
click on Camera System, then click on EXIF. Cheers
