Hi,

I shot this pic this weekend at Indian beach, Oregon coast. Please give me your feedback ( apart from non horizontal horizon which needs to be fixed in pp ). This photo is not pp and results from joining 2 photo using photoshop panorma.

Thanks in advance for looking giving feedback.

Looks good. I actually like it with the non horizontal horizon, gives it an interesting look.

-With KX max shutter speed @ 1/6000th a second I can't be told, "No time for pictures."

Thanks! Actually there was no reflection due to clouds and even clouds were not clear enough to get details kind of slow rainy environment.. Is there any way i can only modify the water to add reflection or modify sky only to add some golden/orange color or sunset ??
It looks underexposed. Maybe shoot at F/16. Also, though it is a decent picture on its own, I think it would look way better with some light reflecting over the water, like you have on the far left.

If you are going to shoot panoramas, you must get the horizon level in the camera before you do any post processing. It is best to use a tripod with a spirit level.

Although the slanted horizon makes this quite a somewhat "wacky" photo, it would ruin most other shots.

It's not in sharp focus.

Photographs are personal. I don't think that your photo has "staying power." I don't see a subject, just a photo that I would look at once. Most beginners should concentrate on how little they can put in a photo rather than how much.

It is actually a very nice, atmospheric image. Sadly, when you straighten the horizon you are going to lose quite a large portion of it, given how far out of horizontal it is. You might like to keep it on a slant, just for effect (but take a copy too, and try straightening - then you will have both versions).

Good points :
  • the subtle range of colours and tones in the sky and water
  • the overall balance and harmony of the shapes (bay, sky, water, rocks)
  • the lighting you captured
It is quite Turner-esque and you don't need any more to it than that.

Too much slant is a bad idea. But it is also way to soft (out of focus). Maybe you could also boost the saturation to make the colors "pop".

Stand closer to the amp, turn the volume up further.

That's what I'd do.
