Good folks of Ricoh,

I have P10, A12 28mm & A12 50mm in my GXR system. Now my trustworthy timberland pouch could no longer contain this whole set of system.

Are there any recommendations (with image/links) if possible of the best bag to get for putting these 3 lensors in.

My preferred bag would be :-
  • not big, i don't want another DSLR big bag which i already have for my SD15
  • hold all 3 : protective for 2 lensors on a compartment and the body + 1 remaining lensor.
  • casual if possible, dont look like a camera bag
Any help and jedi insight would be appreciated

I use the Retrospective 5 from ThinkTank. it's a messenger style bag, and it has become one of my favorite bags to carry my GXR. You can order it from its own website.

Wow! these suggestions are great! i gonna digest a bit here...

Bare Bones Bag based on the Courierware bags mentioned above. My go to camera bag.

whoa...now the choice is getting tough...the artisan does look like a very good buy, over here its sold for UsD 300. The two other brands mentioned looks good too, though not available here, have to order online.

My only concern is the size, i really need one that is as small as possible but can fit all (2 lensor + 1 body with lensor), viewing online is kinda hard to tell.

Good selection i must say, i think these bags are a real seller with the 4/3 and NEX picking up so strongly.

llbean looks good but its not the bag i can carry on a daily commute to office and that was my plan, for vacation or shooting it would looked fitting.

I agree: the LL Bean bag looks nice but I prefers more horizontally organized bag for cameras and the style is a little "country" for urban settings.

A slightly smaller but similar design to the bags that Joel and I suggest is another A&A or BLB (from Photo Village) named "Image Smith" or ACAM 1000. It's a little shorter than the ACAM 7100 model and lacks the overlap, has a zipped front pocket instead. It can easily hold all you mention, but is just a little too tight for the iPad.. It's what I was originally going to get but carrying theniPad was a priority for me. unfortunately, it's not on sale like the ACAM 7100 (at popflash.com) and will cost more.

I also lookrf sy yhr acam 1000 but felt it was too wider/deep for my purposes. I am not sure if Popflash will ship internationally, maybe they will, I would email [email protected] and see. Good luck, lots of choices.

Oh thanks for the info, i will surely view and see.
now i understand why the ladies can spend hours just looking at bags ... :D

It's actually a little shorter, about the same width, and only a little deeper from front pocket to back wall than the ACAM 7100. It's quite a nice bag, but the 7100 is easier to work with in the field given it's more open access on the top and the fact that you can fold the flap back over the the bag.

I'm thinking of removing the flap securing velcro on mine and fitting a couple of closure magnets. Or a simple elastic strap like a Moleskine notebook ... :-)

Godfrey, this was the bag they listed as ACAM 1000

http://www.popflash.com/bags/cases/straps/artisan-artist-acam-1000-brown-camera-bag-new-limited-time-special-pricing/

This is the one I saw without a flap that I liked also

Yes, you can see from the photo that the real difference between these two is the depth of the front pocket: the ACAM 1000 pocket is deep enough for a padded lens divider and three "leica m size" lenses where the ACAM 3000 is more a standard pleated pocket size. The main bag section is pretty much the same size between them and a trifle shorter (bottom to top) compared to the ACAM 7100 (and my BLB bag).

The larger difference in use is that the ACAM 7100 and my BLB "Oskar's One Day Bag Mark II" when the top flap is folded over onto the bag has a completely open top where either the ACAM 1000 or 3000 have a zipper opening in the way of access, like the Domke F5XB that we both have. It's a small difference physically, but depending upon the size and shape of your gear can make a significant difference in ease of getting things in and out.

Have to agree, I never zip the domke, so the 7100 is the preferred bag for me as well. I have not gone out with it yet but everything fits well and easy and the weight is not a concern. I like the flap as it gives for me a bit more difficulty for someone to put their hand in from behind.

What do u folks think of the Crumpler 4 million dollar home ?

There is a local shop selling this brand and it seems to fit all 2 of the GXR modules on each side inside and the camera with lensor facing down in the middle.

Its hard to find the nice brands that was mentioned here except via online. So far i am leaning towards A&A...

I had one crumpler bag, used it a short while, and sold it. They tend to be bulky and heavy with less carrying capacity than the bags I like more. Some are quite nice designs but I just didn't get on with the one I had terribly well.

The A&A 7100 on sale at popflash photo is a bargain and a brilliant bag.

May I suggest the 'Billingham Hadley Small' ? or is that a bit too big for your liking?

ah...billingham has a hand carry which would not be suitable for my preference. thanks for suggesting.
