Hey everyone,

I recently purchased the Coolpix L120. I do like the camera, but I noticed that some of my shots were blurry, and others do not seem sharp. I'm new to photography so I do not know much about manual modes and image quality.

My question is, is there a noticeable difference in image quality between the P500 and the L120? Or is the image quality the same?

I am assuming the only difference is the extra modes (manual modes specifically), higher video quality (1080P V 720P), and extra zoom.

I have about 9 days to decide whether to return the L120, get the P500, and pay the difference -about $130 or so.

Can u add some of your images to this msg. I bought a P500 recently and I have not faced image quality problems except for when I dont focus on the subject :P. If you are new to photography try taking the pictures in AUTO mode.
we can see the problems only when you upload a few pictures.

I have not faced any of the battery problems too as mentioned by some other members. I charged my battery first time for 24hrs and its been charging fine.

the image quality is fine too.

Thanks for the reply. I actually own the L120, not the P500 :).

I figured out my photos were blurry due to low lighting and slow shutter speed (sadly, the L120 lacks a few essential manual modes).

Anyhow, I decided to stick with the L120 until I can actually afford an SLR. The P500 looks so appealing, but if I'm going to purchase an SLR later, I may as well hold off on the P500.

many compacts nowadays when set on auto seem to use a low shutter speed even in bright daylight which can cause camera shake.

Try using the sports settings which will force it to use a high shutter speed...and the text mode often gives nice close-ups with flash...then see how the sharpness is...
I am interested in this camera too...L120.
