Turning photo into cartoon

Nothing really, just the pleasure of helping out a little. I'll send it to you as soon as I finish this post, have fun!

What is the benefit to you to have to answer each and every
individual request from those of us who think that your action may
be worth checking out?

An action speeds up our workflow in PS, posting something on the
web that many people may want would speed up your workflow.

No offense intended, I must just be missing some side benefit you
are receiving from doing it this way.

This is true, the world would be a better place.

Dennis is probably a wonderful human being, doing a good thing, but I don't know him.

Since I get hundreds of spams daily I tend to avoid spreading my address casually, especially when someone looks as if they are harvesting addresses.

Dennis, I realize that you may very well NOT be harvesting, but I have no way of knowing, so I will have to do without your wonderful action.

I am on a slow dial-up because I have no option as yet (love the phone company monopoly) and a large percentage of my surf time is spent waiting for my anti-spam application to do its thing.
So I won't take the chance.

No offense intended, just very defensive,
Herb.

Hi Herbert, I'm just a regular person like you, not a business (except I own a photography business) but I don't send spam to anyone in fact I despise the stuff.
Well take care,

Here's something I did, it worked really well in my opinion:

The original:

A friend took this picture with no photography experience, so be easy on it!

Here's what I did to it:

Basically, first I went to google to take a close look at how Disney cartoons character looked. I noted the outlines around most features and the fact that they weren't quite as saturated and colorful as I expected them to be.

Basically, over top my photo in new layers I used the pen tool and began drawing selections. Using a eyedropper with a 5 pixel radius, I selected overall colors to fill these areas with. I used some artistic license, especially on the eybrows because they don't look proper if I make them as thick as my own. For each selection I drew and filled, I would make a 2 pixel border around it and fill it with black, for my outlines. The outlines are jaggy, though, so I recommed another method to making the outlines, such as stroking the original pen tool path with a brush.

Looks quite cartoonish to me!

Perhaps you may want to send the artist an e-mail.
Hope this helps.
